I love the sound of the Spanish guitar. Nothing like it. I agree that there are all kinds of manufacturing technologies nowadays but nothing compares to that traditional sound of Torres, Ramirez, Santos, Garcia, Esteso, Simplicio, Gomez-Ramirez, Arias, and the like from pre 1940s. These were incredible luthiers.
He mentions Miguel Rodriguez and Paco Marin, which to me have some of the strongest Spanish sounds of later 1900s and today. Let’s not forget Romanillos.

Así es. Y Antonio Marín ha sido uno de los personajes clave en la historia de la guitarra en Granada y quizás la causa de que tengamos ahora tantos profesionales del oficio de gran calidad. Very interesting interview,knowing what you want from a classical guitar is probably the most important personal factor as there is no one guitar that will fit all personal requirements and variables.There are common denominators which will place a guitar above others ,action ,playability and tonal balance.But it is also true ,and Vicente hits the nail on the head…..the guitarist enhances the sound and potential of the instrument……and not all guitarist do.
There is in my opinion an extremely important underlying message which come across and perhaps guitar teachers should take note….If such an accomplished player like Vicente sets his priorities on the action and playability,and will base his selection primarily on this……
Should we not encourage beginners and even intermediate player to know how to be more selective when buying an instrument?……..we should not allow students to learn on instruments we would not play ourselves……my opinion por su puesto.
After all most students will come in and have their £1000s IPhones with a maximum four year span!……imagine the options available in that price range for lifetime instrument.
Keep up the excellent work your doing ,particularly for the guitar makers very often undervalued and taken for granted.

Not good not bad I would say. It is a way to make it. Ramírez I used a super arch. But for example Hauser I made the top flat.

le voyva corregir sobre la altura de las cuerdas, las cuerdas se ponen duras cuando la altura de la celleta del puente superar os 12mm ,si parte de 11 o 10mm nunca estara dura ,si supera los 4.5 en el traste doce estara quizas incomoda ,la angulacion del mastil y la inclinacion hacia los graves es fundamental para la comodidad ,para lograr todos los matizes sonoros ,quizas su preferencia es una guitarra que tenga la proyeccion del mastil de una guitarra flamenca con baretaje de clasica.

Muy interesante el punto 1,he visto guitarras que el ébano tienen un grosero uniforme(es decir que desde traste 1 hasta el 19 el ébano tiene igual grosor) siempre me decían que después del traste 12 se disminuía un poco el ébano porque después de unos años la guitarra cede, he escuchado que con un refuerzo de fibra de carbón ayuda a la estabilidad de este pequeño problema!!
Alberto podrías investigar un poco sobre esto? Se que hay muchos guitarreros que creen en el refuerzo de fibra de carbón y otros no…
Hola Ernesto. Yo lo que te puedo decir sobre ello es que no lo veo necesario. Y creo diría que la mayoría de los guitarreros que conozco tampoco lo ven necesario si se emplean las maderas de calidad apropiadas.
@@maderaguitarras Hola Alberto! No dudo en la madera, dudo en el clima y cómo puede afectar la guitarra, como vivo en un país tropical
A mi no me gusta. Y no lo veo necesario. Yo me concentraría en tener la guitarra en un sitio que controles de humedad (siempre entre 40%-60%) con, en tu caso, algún tipo de deshumidificador. Eso sí que es importante. Piensa también que el carbono no se mueve, pero la madera sí. Y por tanto puede ser que el tener el refuerzo puede derivar a otros problemas. Pero si tú lo ves bien y piensas y sientes que es una ventaja para tí que lo tenga pues adelante!
