- I visited SiccasGuitars, one of the biggest classical guitar saloon for recording a concert, podcast and other fun content for you. They had guitars in a wide price range, I tried guitars selling for 7-8K to 40K euros!
In this video I compare 3 legendary guitars made by some of the most well-known classical guitar luthiers. Which one was your favourite?

All three sound deliciously warm and lovely. In particular I liked the Hernandez best - so lush and a "woody" bass tone that seems perfect to my ears. Thanks for the fun test, Beatrix - I so appreciate your wonderful teaching and playing in general!
I agree. It was also the most balanced to my ear
Thank you David! I agree, all sound wonderful, but I really like the way you described the Hernandez, it's really hard to find good words to describe sound characters :D
If I had to pick one of these three guitars for the sound I listened to and for my fun classical and fingerstyle repertoire, the third (Romanillos) is my favorite.
And I thank Lady Beatrix for making me enjoying this wonderful music for my heart and my soul.
Guitar 1 was the best. What a fragile world! TH-cam urged me to be nice, people's delicate feelings and all. I hope toughness is not needed any time in the future, we are not tough
Guitar 1 definitely! So smooth throughout the colour range.
I liked the first and last ones the best.
I like the first one the best - smooth tone and nice intonation. Very nicely played and nice video.
I enjoyed the sound of all three, although my favorite was the second one, Fleta. Also, I really enjoy hearing you play.
Thanks Gary, I also feel like the Fleta has the most personality for me
They're all beautiful sounding in their own ways. What is the piece you are playing?
Fleta ❤
All sound great! But I noticed a difference that I couldn't really put my finger on (no pun intended) with the 2nd one (Fieta). It just made me feel the music better - almost as if I was there, even though it is a recording!
Your humor is beautiful
Each one its own unique soul
so true!
First guitar (Santos) seems to have a wolf note at F#. Both the 3rd string 11th fret and 1st string 2nd fret sounds loud and a bit out of place. Quite noticeable in the recording at around 00:47 and 1:44.
I like Romanillos the best.
For me the Ignacio Fleta would be the choice. Because it is clear and warm at the same time.
The Santos Hernandez is more the "Old School" sound. Nothing wrong about that but the com-
bination enough warmth and clearlyness is not that easy to find in a guitar. The Romanillos is a
bit similar to the Fleta but it lacks that edge of brightness which gives it its' distinct personality
to my opinion.
Fleta 😮🤯
I did observe that epic trip to siccas. It must be amazing to not only get to play all these instruments but also have the skills to live up to them. I so wish the comparison were agnostic of the asking price. Old vs new, first generation vs. later generations, Spanish vs Italian, Spruce vs Cedar: there are any number of comparisons that are more interesting to me than price, which is, in essence, just a reflection of supply and demand.
Thank you! You made a solid point regarding the guitars, in this video there's no talk about the prize of them, I only tell you the maker and model.
Thanks for this! I’d sneak out there with the Santos Hernandez.
I love Hernandez if I had to choose...
When I bought my Otto Vowinkle 2A(cedar top) in a Montreal classical guitar store I also played Lagrima on several models 😊 However, I did have a price limit. But very happy with it. Was built in 2019.
3 very beautiful guitars with so much personality in tone.
I agree, maybe the Fleta is my favourite but all three was amazing!
@@beatrixguitar yeah, that did seem to agree with you.
All amazing. Hard to judge from a recording… but. First one for sure. I can hear everything very clear. Even a hint of a very good… I forgot what it is called… overtone? Very nice guitar
Yes, the recording doesn't give the full experience at all, I was experimenting with a little boosting in audio editing but then it just lost character :(
The way the Hernandez separated the melody from the accompaniment was perfection. A beautiful voice on top; harmonically supported, delicately and sensitively. Of course, first & foremost that was your playing! But imho your artistry was best, uh... _rendered_ by the Hernandez.
I love how charismatic you are.
How beautiful ❤
The best guitar is the one that you have😊
Thanks.
Romanillos 👍
Interesting comparison, Beatrix! I least liked the Fleta soundwise, it seemed to be slightly out of tune to boot. But if I had to choose one of the two spruce topped guitars, I'd be caughr between a rock and a hard place. The Hernandez sounds fatter on single notes, when you hit that high e, it really shines. The Romanillos on the on the other hand has more elegance in its tone...
It would be nice, if you did such a comparison with affordable guitars.
Yes, unfortunately the Fleta is a bit out of tune but it's nearly impossible to keep these guitars in tune. They always have fresh strings on , the oldest strings are 5 days old tops, and the Fleta was just restrung before I played it. :/ You tune it but then it's out again in 10 seconds.
This is very personal, of course, but the Fleta was the one I "felt" with. A very characteristic sound. I have the tendency to like cedar-top guitars more than spruce-top guitars in general. Not a rule, but cedar is usually rounder/milder but still with a more immediate response.
The Romanillos is without doubt my favorite. Intimate sound, clear voices. I don't like loud (concert) guitars that sound good no matter how you touch them. The guitar has to respond to and reflect what I want to say.
Ignacio fleta
Hello
Three of them are good
But I liked Santos Hernandez
💯
I thought they all sounded wonderful. Which one did you like the best, Beatrix?
Thank you Russ, I think the Fleta had the most special character to me, it had a really dark tone which I liked a lot at that moment. It had a nice, intimate sound, perfect for small places, but probably wouldn't fill up a big concert hall. But maybe I'm wrong :D
They are about the same in class. The difference is only in personality, ie. tonal gualty.
fleta
My giussani sounds better than most very expensive guitars I have tried.
Marry me ❤
Nope

Hello Beatrix,
The way you hold the guitar is different than traditional posture.
Would you like to tell us why?
I also feel size of the guitar is little big as compared to you.
Please make our concepts clear.
2 3 1 - but... the guitar is nothing in the hands of a noob 😀
I prefer the second one, fleta, but even the third is very beautiful.
Fleta ❤
