I tried making these and they were great. Definitely a recipe that works for making wraps or flat-breads. They slightly puffed up perfectly. The key is adding just enough hot water to keep the dough manageable - not too wet and not too dry.

A lot of other plants besides almonds are high in oxalates as well. Some people with impaired digestion, but sometimes just genetically predisposed individuals are sensitive to oxalates. In those people, oxalates ingested with food get into the bloodstream and then the tissues of the body creating pain and inflammation. If you are interested in more detail Eliot Overtone has a wonderful presentation about oxalate sensitivity. You can find it on youtube.

I kept this recipe from a year ago and knew I had to make it so today was it, they are a perfect accompaniment for curry or soup we had it with soup. These chapattis are so tender and don’t overpower the meal with flavour. Great recipe thank you for posting it.

What is physilium husk or xanthum gum. Am in France and never heard of these and have no chance of getting it here so what can I replace it with...I have arrowroot as apparently one has to add that to coconut flour to make bread less hard...

The same can be achieved with xanthum gum as well. If you are not allergic to xanthum gum you can add half tsp of xanthum gum to replace the psyllium husk. ☺

Excellent recipe , I didn’t use yogurt , keeping it dairy free ... but still turned out really good , just needed to add more water...the chapati tastesd sweet because of the coconut flour
Thanks for your comment.. I guess it could be due to the quality of coconut flour. Every brand is different. Some brands hv added ingredients like soy flour etc. As long as it comes out perfect in texture n taste, colour shouldn't be an issue.. ☺
Coconut flour is different from coconut milk powder and desicated coconut powder. I hv used coconut flour in this recipe. You may try it with desicated coconut powder also but I'm not sure if the binding will be perfect.

It acts like GLUTEN .. its a BINDER ingredient instead of GLUTEN which is in Wheat, Barley, & Rye flours.

Turned out perfect! Tastes almost the same as regular chapati. Thanks for the amazing recipe. I added a bit of Xanthan gum to make it more pliable.

So finally made these and wish l had chosen unsweetened coconut flour! Not sure any coconut flour is sugar free. Apart from that they were okay.
