The time has come to take the E-motion Engineering Porsche GT3R up the mountain. They broke records on qualifying, but weather showed up on Race Day and conditions weren’t good. The track was wet and slick, there was very little to no visibility but the race must go on. Making it up the mountain safe became the new goal.

Gran Turismo/Polyphony Digital have been showing up at Pikes Peak for years, maybe we'll finally get Pikes peak added as a track to run. I would love a downhill race on that mountain, holy smokes.
I agree, I hope Sony releases more tracks including the Pikes Peak Colorado race track. It was in GT 5 but it had to be unlocked.
I hope for pikes peak in gt7 as well. I have zero faith
@@Mc-Derpulous I could see it coming out of no where. I’m sure other GT7 players wrote to Sony about Pikes Peak. It’s only a matter of time when it will come out.

The road for the spectators up to devils playground was slick in spots but the amount of traffic probably made the race more bearable … The Alfa Romeo Stelvio that followed me up nearly lost it several times … you could see road conditions where gnarly just above the playground where racers where spinning out!!! Memorable for sure!

Yes, Larry, I liked the series/collaboration. I had tears in my eyes watching e motion's film in part 2. Just an epic historic landmark build for the ages which represents the entire culture in one car. If I had to choose one car from this channel to have this would be it.

Sounds so sick inside with headphones on, freekin awesome!!!!! Adam LZ'S pro drift car has str8 cut gears with a winters quick change rear end and sounds close 2 it but then u got twin turbos inside the car with u.... So sick!!!!!

Lol. Like the race engineers didn’t think of a Lithium Ion battery as an easy way to save weight. They look to cut every single millimeter of wire, hoses, etc to save weight, and their are gonna over look the battery? 😉
Wasn’t over looked. The tuner preferred not playing around with low voltage. We have had too many issues with sophisticated electronics and aftermarket lithium batteries

Larry, Thank you - a special project for sure..... I always knew Reece Millen had a big Brass set - watching him go up on Race Day, all I could think of was "Are you frikkin kidding me right now".....
At the tender age of 66 yrs young I would have turned the car around, back to the pits with a lot of Adult work words as regards to the weather.... What a drive!
The driver can certainly do with a fitness campaign & shed some 50lbs of additional weight of ballast noted around his waist area. Perhaps ditch the car & try cycling up Pikes Peak a few times a week should do the trick.
They spend so much money making the car as light as possible, yet the driver behind the wheel is overweight.
Seriously, one has to question his commitment?
After that little shrug at 8:30, I was imagining "This fucking sucks.." and a couple seconds later "Well, that sucked" lol. Still an absolutely incredible drive!
Also, that livery is absolutely gorgeous.

Little disappointed in the commentary about the 992 street car that beat this car. Just ignore the fact the *driver was David Donner. Multiple time PP overall winner and class winner. He lives at the base of the mountain! Larry? Every Porsche on the planet needs weight on the RF wheel. There is a reason why Porsche moved the battery to that location. The *factory GT3R battery is a LiPo. It’s super lightweight but in a full size case.
That turbo GT3 R build is insane!!! I am presuming that during shifting, the ignition is cut but not the fuel hence the explosions and flame thrower out back.
Sad to know that the battle between Ken Block and the pink Gucci ghost Livery Porsche vs. this Porsche will never happen. At least not with Block driving it…
Could the Tacoma go faster I think she can it was looking kind of really nice at the time she did. Jump in that car buddy and make your dad proud. It’s all tar now. Do love the Porsche though what a nice car.
Next year...likely the competition (if they know what's it all about), wll is planning to bring something that is even faster.... as well as others deciding..."this will be our hill when we show off our new something we been working on " and the bar is set even higher

Really enjoyed the series, as a retired VW/Audi/Porsche tech enjoyed the mechanical aspect and have done track days and crewed on a formula Ford so liked the prep and race part of the series. Keep more content like these coming. Pikes Peak is on my bucket list to spectate.
