@@frostdracony The fact that I almost never see it for one thing. Back when everyone an their goddamn mother had DPE, Fusion Destiny, and Celestial getting them free draws in every goddamn game? Yeah, that was a fucking nightmare. But nowadays, I hardly ever see Verte at all. 99% of the time, if I see things being milled to the GY for a Fusion summon it's Branded Fusion for the 10,000th goddamn time. And whenever _that_ happens it's off the back of Aluber or just activating it from hand, not Verte. I think Verte isn't so much a problem card, so much as it makes cards that _ARE_ a problem worse. Take the aforementioned DPE subject into consideration. Back when it was played all the time Fusion Destiny was at 2, but the number of times you'd see it played turn 1 without searching or drawing was INSANE! It wasn't so much that Verte was the reason DPE was broken, so much as it made getting it so much more _consistent._ I also think the reason not as many people are playing Verte now is because, unless you're summoning DPE or have something else to link away using Verte, it's nothing but a big fat target to rip your LP a new asshole after you just chunked a quarter of it away. And if you used Verte turn 1 and your opponent negated it with Imperm, Ash, Gamma, or Veiler and you don't have any more summons you're probably just boned right then and there because you still had to pay the LP for cost.

Ah yes. Thunder Dragon Colossus, Galaxy Tomahawk, Mecha Auroradon, Scythe, Verte. The same thing about them is that all 5 of them are banned in the TCG. The problem with Verte in the TCG is, I would say, it was too easy to go into 2 nasty disruptions. You can just mush 2 bullsh*t monsters together and throw away 2000 LP just to summon a goddamn tower that is immune to everything, can negate anything once per turn and pop 1-2 times in the main phase (Dragoon) or the mutual destruction loop that pisses almost everyone off (DPE). It was not the targets, it was banned due to how easily accessible these two are.
There's at least 5 cards that person played that are problematic cards, including Tomahawk, and all of them are banned in the TCG for that very reason. Verte, Scythe, Auroradon, and Tomahawk needed to go a long time ago. Scythe, especially, but that's because it's a ridiculous floodgate to have in a best of one format.

Aside from the Tomahawk/Auroradon/Verte/Dagda stuff that most decks can do if they tried, the Armed Dragon Thunder synergy with the baby dragon rulers was actually very cool
So its not really Dragon rulers that are broken. Its really how quickly the player can get out extra deck monsters and it seems like they have the ability to help search out other monsters with the same attribute. So theoretically they are not strong in a pure dragon ruler deck with no extra deck monsters. Because their goal is to be used as material for bigger monsters so their additional effects can be activated. But once they hit the field and the player does not used them as material, they can be interpreted as useless.
this is how you play dragon ruler there is no other way to play it, its based on extra monster deck, this shit killed yugioh on release all the way to worlds where everyone is playing it only other deck at the time to match it was spellbooks with 3 judgment crazy as is sounds they can come back at limited at 1 for all the lv7's in 2023 its should be fine decks are fast enough now but should never be at unlimited
the funny thing is armed dragons cand do that combo or worse without the dragon rulers. they can use the same combo but go into the simorgh link, union carier, equip mist valley thunderbird to simorgh summon ip masqurena, summon apex avian, at end phase for infinite negates, opponents turn, link ip masq an union carrier for crusadia avramax. sure it doesnt lock the extra deck but they will have a hard time playing thru infinite negates. and both boards lose to tributing/kaiju or dark ruler no more + raigeki/lightning storm tbh dragon rulers are not the problem galaxy tomohawk is the problem in both combos

Sure you can use carrier to equip the buster blader monster and lock out of the extra deck but that is essentially a scythe lock. Without tomahawk they wouldn't even be able to do it anyway. Union carrier was scummy but had limited practical uses tomahawk on the other hand have infinite potential and opens the way to all kinds of stupid boards and would have Been a better hit

As someone who plays the hell outta this deck I suggest throwing in some type of tribute monster removal like nib or goddess of the underworld so stuff not affected by effects can still be removed from the field
"This is why rulers should be banned" Link Thundra's regular endboard is Dpe + Sus + Baron/Borrel + Apo. I used to play a Dagda + Scythe engine but i didnt like how many bricks it ran. If you want this type of stuff you shouldve just been playing pure thundra since it was super consistent if you werent drawing the bricks.

How are you gonna manipulate your starting hands in Master Duel? I'd be interested to see someone find a way to do so directly but i don't think you can actively cheat to get perfect hands, this is probably just consistent cancer

The tcg took care of this problem by banning colossus, Verte, scythe, aruradon. Colossus is a problem card. Verte is a problem card. Auruadon is still kinda cool imo.
none at all? just quit making them generic instead or make them unable to be tributed for link monsters or even have them more in line by making them more archetype based like "can only summon so and so monsters for the rest of the turn" etc. they dont have to get rid of a card design for balance. should branded sword be banned? a card literally no one plays. how bout hippo carnival? how far are you willing to carry that sentiment?

@@SnowyGrass Ngl I'm sort of torn on colossus being banned or unbanned. On one hand he gets outed like other generic Omni negate cards due to cards like DRNM, droplet and the like on the other hand a continuous droll is pretty strong
@@Honest_Mids_Masher droll has strong argument for being better outside of dedicated thunder decks as it is more generic, requires less resources and not being continuous works out for you as you are not locked and games rarely last long enough to feel that lack of effect continuity

Oh god i was just against this deck yesterday using it as an engine for swordsoul tenyi and its such a broken combo to the point i thought its his whole deck with tenyi as an engine, still newbie so thats what i think that moment until he start showing baron and the grandmaster which is a standard combo i do for swordsoul except he got away with my nibiru where he sommuned those bunch of plane tokens xD

none at all? just quit making them generic instead or make them unable to be tributed for link monsters or even have them more in line by making them more archetype based like "can only summon so and so monsters for the rest of the turn" etc. they dont have to get rid of a card design for balance.
