I figured the “ITYTD enjoyer” came from the fact that a lot of modern mapsets go overkill on the monster count with the assumption you’ll be utilizing infighting and pro Doom monster strats. ITYTD thus tends to be a must for casual playthroughs of slaughterwads and other difficult mapsets
Case in point: Sunder. Literally the only skill easier than Ultra-Violence is ITYTD, which is Ultra-Violence with reduced enemy damage, because Insane_Gazebo couldn't be arsed to design maps, enemy and item placement for the easy and medium skills.
Thats literally what project brutality feels like: 5 minutes figuring out wtf is that weapon youre looking for, another 5 reloading it and then just fire to reload all over again

As someome who is new to doom and fps in general (I barely played fps before so I'm not very good at it) the "too young to die fan" was very accurate. i seletcted that difficulty and in classic doom i would just run around in circles looking for doors and shooting the demons if i saw them. It might not have been what the clips were trying to show but it looked exactly like what i was doing lol
