Love the crossing you filmed here some years back now Michael. Went to Wingello earlier this month to film a fair amount of trains there. When i was there. The WC Hayes bell has died as it never rings when I was there. only the Westinghouse Hybrid did.
I filmed this crossing not too long ago. All of the equipment is the same, but, the WCH M-Bell died and was replaced by a Safetran type 3 E-Bell. The hybrid is still there though.
I actually attempted to record this crossing but the train never came for hours so that’s when I recorded the pedestrian crossing in Tahmoor back in 2016
Thanks! Hopefully a picture of Fallon St will turn up some day. It seems that Wingello was never mentioned in any of the LCSC reports, I guess because it was upgraded using recycled equipment with no cost involved.
Thanks! Some of the equipment has moss growing on it which needs removing. Pretty sure there were a few hybrid bells around the Pilbara region in WA, but they're the only ones I know of outside NSW and VIC. Not sure why other states didn't use them, guess they were happy with the bells they were already using.
Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing this hybrid bell on GSV www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.0120133,138.7437498,3a,75y,327.94h,87.74t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sJrt3FcvlNp6FFiRXDr5f9w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Great video! Both m-bells certainly sound healthy! It’s a shame the old signals are gone now but I quite like the new ones! Had the old signals lights been converted to LED when they were replaced?
Thanks! My memory is a bit scratchy but I'm pretty sure Wingello still had incandescent lights and wishbone gates right up until the 2008 upgrade. It's nice that one of the original bells was reused here and I think the 2 Tracks sign on the signal with the hybrid bell was also reused, it still has the old cast iron bracket.

Nice Video and Crossing!
Thanks!
I was there a couple days ago, and unfortunately the WCH m bell has been replaced by a safetran type 3. The hybrid is still going strong though.

RIP dead bells
Luckily they're not dead, just switched off during late night and early morning.
Great video!
Thanks!

It's a shame you missed recording the crossing. The best time to record here is in the morning, there are heaps of trains.
Nice video!
Thanks!
Great Video. I think that the Qube train goes to Minto
Thanks! Yes I've seen those blue containers at Minto before.
Nice crossing, and I do agree with your theory about how these signals possibly came from Fallon Street, Albury.

Nice video! Some of that equipment looks old/needs a good clean. I wonder why hybrid bells never migrated outside of the eastern states.

@@McKHAust I think SA also had a couple too as I saw one crossing there with a hybrid bell, but it has since been replaced with an e-bell.

@@McKHAust Yes, that's the one I'm thinking of...
Excellent video! I wonder why the hybrid was replaced.
Thanks! The hybrid bell was most likely recycled so I guess it died.

Nice crossing! Are these safetran hybrid bell?
Thanks! It's a Westinghouse hybrid bell.
