- ( www.abnova.com ) - Hemocytometer or Cell Counting Chamber is frequently used to count cell numbers such as cell density of cultured cells in research labs and blood count and sperm count in clinical labs. For counting of attached cells, cells are trypsinized, mixed with a dye (Trypan Blue), loaded onto a hemocytometer and then counted under a microscope. More videos at Abnova www.abnova.com
Thank you for the formula in the end
I have a question. The step in 2:56, you mention "Add appropriate volume of fresh medium and mix well", what is fresh medium here? What does it compose of?
Thank in advance
Your own medium with which you culture the cells before.
Can i use ordinary light microscope here?
Yes, you can use ordinary light microscopy for counting the cells.
What about the deactivation of trypsin?
Deactivating trypsin is essential to prevent further cell damage after detachment. Adding complete growth medium containing serum effectively inactivates trypsin. The serum components, such as alpha-1-antitrypsin, inhibit trypsin's proteolytic activity.
can you tell me about cell line name? i really want to know that..
Vero cells (adherents)
