My sister plays lurch (i play the ballerina ancestor) and she got a big role right before it (sheryl i think thats how i spell it in evil dead the musical) and she got sick right before it and she got much better so she wanted to make a comeback but she ended up getting lurch with no speaking, dancing or singing parts
I play Lurch at my high school. It is NOT as easy as you think. Full Disclosure is physically painful to stand completely still for 12 minutes straight.
When we did it last fall, our ancestors were resurrected zombies. Their makeup was super detailed and the costume designer based it around how she thought each one died based on their profession or theme, so there was like a gunshot and a lynching and a car accident and i can't remember which else but it was awesome to have a little bit different interpretation.
Patrice Nelms did they come from different time periods? I feel like that's important to keep. Every Adams past present and future [although that only happened one time, and I think he made a wrong turn]
Patrice Nelms In my schools production I’m an ancestor and I’m a 1920s deputon girl who shot herself in a game of Russian roulette lmao my backstory is great
lmao in mine literally everyone was just wearing any historical white costume they could along with white makeup that was only personalized for a specific 10 ancestors idek what i was bro but it actually looked okay (it was march 23rd 24th and 25th btw)
Patrice Nelms We have ours that way too. We have a zombified cowgirl, a Navy seal, an airplane hostess, a big homeless bearded guy, a biker dude, an Indian and a pilgrim, and a bunch of others. Their accidents are kinda left up to interpretation. It’s pretty interesting I’m in the pit orchestra.
She does in the beginning of the show but she loses them because shes now a "woman"...the whole play is based off a dinner her family hosts for her new boyfriend
I saw The Addams Family with a friend, who coordinated the tickets. Turned out we saw it just a couple days after Nathan Lane left the show. I was so disappointed!
i absolutely love krysta rodriguez as wednesday. she is amazing and never gets out of character. and she makes the choreography so stylized to match wednesday and her character it is amazing. and when it is only her dancing with the ancestors she kills it. her vocals, facial expressions, and even dancing ability is amazing and very entertaining to watch.
Ive only really seen highschool productions of this show and the plot or the songs didn't grip me, but holy sh*t, hearing a legit cast perform makes all the difference. Kudos to all the highschool productions for attempting, I can imagine this show is tough to sing.
My step daughter was one of the ancestors in her high school musical this past weekend. Her high school did a fantastic job. I commend any school taking this on, and would love to see a professional troupe perform it.
We are doing this for our winter musical production this year. I was sad to see that I didn't get a lead, I got Flapper, an ancestor. But, I love my part, haven't got a costume yet, but I'm sure it'll be awesome. Awesome job to the cast of Addams Family! :)
Oh. What kind of shows does your school do? My theater is doing this show next semester along with Shrek but I might not audition for it because I might try out for little women
At play practice (we’re doing the middle school version) in our script it says, “I love it when you talk sweet!” And Our Gomez said, “I love it when you talk sexy” and then we all started laughing 😂
Hey thanks I'm glad I'm not the only one who think that. And man it's so cool to watch it that way I can't watch this video any other way than full screen!I'm glad you enjoyed it in full screen!
My high school is doing this show and I really want to be in this number. I've worked with the directors before and knowing them they'll cast me as one of the featured dancers if I don't get a speaking roll, and I'm 99% sure that the dancers will be the ancestors in this number so I'm excited
i'm leaving in two weeks to go to nyc with my dance class for a competion/convention/ sight seeing and broadway show seeing and we are seing this show the first night!!!!!!! i'm sooooooooooooo pumped
I love how the girl who plays Mortitia is able to keep the exact same expression throught the whole song. That takes skill. (Probably not, I might just suck at stuff like that)
This is my first time seeing this and I love this video, I do look forward to seeing this on Broadway. I do have a complaint about Pugsley, that his eyes are uncharacteristically darkened to make him sinister looking and in most rendition, he usually doesn't have the darkness under the eyes.
When you realize that Bertram from Jessie is Uncle Fester lol
OMG you're right !! O_o And now he is the Wizard in Wicked !
Soooo trye
True... lol
He was also Horton in Seussical!!
He was also Horton in the Broadway production of Seussical
Fun fact: Gomez's actor is the voice of Timon from The Lion King.
Flameheart from Thunderclan Dude he's a Broadway legend being the voice of timon doesn't even scratch the surface
Flameheart from Thunderclan Now I can't stop hearing it!
Favourite roles of his for me is The Producers and The Birdcage
I just reccognised him from Modern Family
He was also co-lead role in Mousehunt
I love how Lurch has the easiest part of the whole thing xD Just standing there and groaning.
CutieDemonAlice well, until the last scene..
My school's Lurch is really good and makes the entire thing so much funnier and better
You do what Addams do or ehhhhh
My sister plays lurch (i play the ballerina ancestor) and she got a big role right before it (sheryl i think thats how i spell it in evil dead the musical) and she got sick right before it and she got much better so she wanted to make a comeback but she ended up getting lurch with no speaking, dancing or singing parts

oh also i was asked to be the native american bc i am native american but like even the dance director didnt want that lmao
When Bebe/Morticia strikes the "arms crossed" pose at 4:06 it's such a perfect imitation of Carolyn Jones.. almost as if Carolyn was back with us
I like her
My only problem with this is Wednesday's lack of braids
It's because Wednesday is older now in her late teens/early 20s ❤️
CHRISTINA RICCI FOREVER....👍👍👍. SHE'S THE BEST WEDNESDAY EVER.
Wednsday is 18 in this version
She does in the beginning of the show but she loses them because shes now a "woman"...the whole play is based off a dinner her family hosts for her new boyfriend
Abram in Wonderland EXACTLY
As much as I adored the UK cast nothing will beat Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth
I saw The Addams Family with a friend, who coordinated the tickets. Turned out we saw it just a couple days after Nathan Lane left the show. I was so disappointed!
Bebe Neuwirth as also amazing as Velma in Chicago 😁
i just got cast as Morticia!!!!!
winnie CONGRATS
winnie same for my dance show!!!!!!! Congrats!
What did you audition with?
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Yay!
Finally, a video of this song I can keep watching without the singing being drowned out by the audience
Yikes! No one was singing when I saw it on Broadway.
I'm so excited for Carrie hope fletcher getting the role of Wednesday for the UK 2017 tour!! Congrats Carrie!! You are gonna do amazing!💕💕
Ah yes I'm going to see it and I cannot be more excited to see Carrie!
Cosset Daae she was so good!!
Natasha when are you going?
Olivia Kelly July in Bradford (:
She is amazing!, watched it today in Northampton, absolutely fantastic.
in my choir class, were singing this and the Addams family theme song, nightmare before Christmas and monster mash
Digital Gamer same here!! My choir did a mashup of this, one normal night, join the family business, and other songs!
Sounds like a pretty good deal

My best friend got Lurch, I’ve never seen someone better at playing a corpse 😆
I'm lurch too for my school
I got the part of Morticia for my college's adaption of the Addams Family Musical. Can't wait!
CutieDemonAlice bcc?
Matt Parkes Bcc????
CutieDemonAlice Hey - Have you done the show? How'd it go? Morticia is my hero!
Ali Murray It went really well thank you! I enjoyed every minute of it!! :D
This couldn't have had a better cast!
OMG that is burtrum from Jessie
+Bella Day Indeed it is. I remember saying, "Is that Uncle Fester?" when I saw him on that show.
Cannot wait to audition for this show on saturday!!! Going for Morticia!
😋good luck
+BellatrixRox16 I'm playing Lurch.
That's cool! I'm one of the Ancestors
+BellatrixRox16 It's definitely my favorite musical that I've done at my school. I was Uncle Fester. His voice is so fun to do. XD
Jordan Shoulders I am currently playing one of the Ancestors for the BAM production in my town! It's so much fun!
I love how he says “Come to me” and he’s the one that walks up to her.
I played an ancestor for my school's adaptation. I had a blast.
Personally, this is the best cast as this actor for Gomez is much better than any other Gomez.
Oh, I love Nathan Lane.
+Abby Gray His and my birthday are the same day
TBNRcommunist Cameron Blakely in the British version is absolutely fantastic.
Aw I'm about to play him
Maddy Gowers 100% agree!
We are doing this for our winter musical production this year. I was sad to see that I didn't get a lead, I got Flapper, an ancestor. But, I love my part, haven't got a costume yet, but I'm sure it'll be awesome.
Awesome job to the cast of Addams Family! :)
We are doing it this year. I’m a Victorian ancestor :)
my highschool recently did this musical and it was so good, i wish i could rewatch it over and over again😭
OH MY GOD!!!
This musical is just bomb!
I wish our school would do something like this, like these classic beloved musicals.
Oh. What kind of shows does your school do? My theater is doing this show next semester along with Shrek but I might not audition for it because I might try out for little women
God, this was such a fantastic musical. Tons of fun. I recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't gone.

@@kaynuchiha3854 I know I’m replying late but Krysta Rodriguez
Song is stuck in my head and I love it! When you're an Addams *snap snap*
@Bridgettefan231
the "girl" who plays Morticia is Bebe Neuwirth - one of America's Broadway Legends! ;-)
This is my favorite cast for this musical.
I'm Pocahontas Addams in the production :) So excited!!

Carrie Hope fletcher and the cast of the U.K Addams Family seem like they'll make he show the best out there!
No because this cast is loaded with so many talented people of my childhood-
I love how Wednesday stays in character even when the song is over:)
the comedic timing here is on point!
My son's in the pit for this show in Berkeley. Soooo proud! ...when you're an Adams!👏👏
At play practice (we’re doing the middle school version) in our script it says, “I love it when you talk sweet!” And Our Gomez said, “I love it when you talk sexy” and then we all started laughing 😂
間奏で曲調が色々と変わっても、ダンサーが不気味要素を崩さないのがすごい!わずかな首の傾きや体幹の固定など、演出か振り付けかダンサーお一人お一人の力量かわかりませんが、とても感動しました!
everyone should try putting the captions on on this video. Truly priceless transcribing right here.
All i can say is this show is to die for, get it, to die for.
I commend the actors for supressing there urge to smile to stay in character they must be having a awsome time XD
Incredibly good! 💗
I just saw this tonight on the tour, though everyone looked a lot younger. Loved this first part and couldn't get it out of my head.
Wow, that was surprisingly awesome!!!
I remember singing and acting this out for a play, good times.
Watched the show last night - it was fantastic!
Hey thanks I'm glad I'm not the only one who think that. And man it's so cool to watch it that way I can't watch this video any other way than full screen!I'm glad you enjoyed it in full screen!
I really enjoyed this opening when I saw it live. Nathan and Bebe were perfect for the roles. I loved this play now =3
My high school is doing this musical this year. Playing clarinet 1 in the pit. Score is amazing 💛
childhood memories.....loved that show
My high school is doing this show and I really want to be in this number. I've worked with the directors before and knowing them they'll cast me as one of the featured dancers if I don't get a speaking roll, and I'm 99% sure that the dancers will be the ancestors in this number so I'm excited

one of my favorite parts of this, is Lurch smiling after it's all over :)
Imagine watching this in 2020 and enjoying it more than actual music in 2020. I fuckin love this show
I love how the girl who plays Mortitia is able to keep the exact same expression throught the whole song.
