I have an assessment at a cafe tomorrow and I told them I did a barista course. Thanks for this video its gonna be a huge help in keeping up with that lie.
I started a job yesterday and knowing it was my first shift working a coffee machine it’s gonna take time, watching this made me feel like I can get the hang of it when at work so thanks
Yeah, I have an interview today and I've done this kind of work before, but it's been a couple of years and the guy was kind of condescending, he's like people say they know how to use it but they don't this has been so helpful
I have an interview at one of my favourite cafe's today. They know I've never used an espresso machine before, but also they will want me to pick it up quickly so I've just watched this a couple of times and hopefully I'll be able to do it myself in no time! Thankyou so much for all the help!
Thank you for this video. I just purchased an espresso machine and have been watching how-to videos to make espresso correctly. Yours really helped, thanks.
thanks for this video, I’ve got a trial shift at a cafe on Friday and I’ve never used one of those machines before so this has helped me calm my nerves and feel a bit more confident:)
@@emmalynch8508 good luck! Using the machines was alright after a while and I did a whole like 3 hour trial shift unpaid 😳 and then the owner never got back to me about anything but I didn’t like him cos as soon as he met me he asked how old I was and I was 19 and then said ‘oh I would have thought you were about 12’ EXCUSE ME! That pissed me off and I thought it was very inappropriate so I didn’t want to work for him anyway. So hopefully it goes better for you :)
Tomorrows my first day at an actual coffee place after working at Starbucks and they have a real espresso machine. Thanks for teaching me how to use it!
Thanks so much, I'm going for a trial shift in a cafe on Friday and whilst I was open with them about not having experience, I like to be a bit prepared. This video was fantastic, and well explained - thankyou 🙂
Oooh my God thanks so much this video is so gd for beginners who lie have working experience like me any time i will be going for an interview I will watch this video over and over thanks very much
Thank you so much! Very helpful video for a beginner. Due to lockdown I can't practice on a machine. So this video is very helpful. Thank you for explaining things in simple terms.
Great video, thank you! I’m looking to set up a coffee van/trailer at some point. With a variant of one of these machines in. Out of the videosI’ve watched, this was to the point, and easy to follow too. Will definitely be watching again i think!
His shot is running too fast, should be close to 30 seconds duration....gauging the milk temperature by hand on the side of the jug is quite strange, its usually the palm of the hand on the base of the jug, but its advisable to use a thermometer. If you are starting up a van you need to understand how to set/adjust your grinder and how to calibrate/set the volumes on your machine. Barista is not just about pressing buttons and steaming milk. Good luck.
won't a double espresso shot give you the same as the option for 2 single espresso shots? seeing as both come out the same slot and will be divided over 2 cups
didn’t even lie told my shop I was coming from a pizza place and have no experience making coffee. Still hired me lol we are halfway through the 5 day training period and they still haven’t shown us anything on the expresso machine. Thanks for the video. Hope they are truly desperate and don’t fire me.
Hi Sir ! Good job but if you want to make even better you should distribute the coffee evenly before tamping and tamping much harder ( around 30 pounds of pressure ) ... you should dial your shot / grinder to have a double in 27-32seconds with a ratio of around 1:2 coffee powder vs liquid coffee . Peace
Bruh this comment is 2 years old so I don't know if you'll see this appreciation but you gave me exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! hoping life has been kind to you over these years!
Thanks so much for this video. I'm taking a college course for restaurant service and my prof asked if anyone was a barista previously. I was. But then she showed me this machine... Haha. I'm from a super duper small town, they only coffee we served was regular cups, so all I know how to do is grind coffee beans and brew 😂
I get my espressos in cafés (often different ones and in various countries/languages), and for practical reasons that won't change in the foreseeable future. I keep on making one mysterious experience there which I haven't been able to reliably solve yet. For a simple (thus not double) espresso they give me a small cup, and that's fine. While some then serve me a cup filled with a long espresso (thus filled to the top, and looking light-brown), others give me one that's only half full - or even less. I don't need it so strong, and I prefer more liquid. So I now keep telling them to give me one shot, but filled to the top. Like in spanish: espreso sencillo (una carga de granos), pero lleno/hasta arriba. It's usually not that they were trying to cheat me (my impression), it's more that they don't really know how to handle the machine. So if I could guide them through the process and it won't cost them more than some additional water), they would probably do it. So what do we have to do to fill a one-shot espresso to the top of the espresso cup, and looking light-brown like the short espresso? That would probably be the problem statement. Is there a straightforward answer?
Im going to buy an espresso machine and even thinking of starting a cafe vending trailer. This is a major help to understanding the bigger espresso machines
When you remove the tank that contains the coffee beans, first get all the excess coffee with a spoon, and then put a DRY plastic CUP on top of the machine so the grinding blades don't get wet, they are quite sensitive
Question! Why would the espresso seemingly overflow over the coffee holder thing, and come out funny while brewing? I tried a few times and it wouldn't work, even though I was essentially taught how. Another person came by, did the same thing and it worked for them. What did I do wrong? Lol
Either you’ve tampered it too hard or the grind is too fine. But if it’s overflowing then there may be an issue with the rubber seal on the head. It should never overflow and come out
You can program the buttons to whatever timing you want thus why there’s 2 buttons. But I’ve set me double shot and 2 espresso to do the same exact timing
I have an assessment at a cafe tomorrow and I told them I did a barista course. Thanks for this video its gonna be a huge help in keeping up with that lie.
