Stolen Crow Bar Restoration

- In this week's video, I restore a rusty crowbar that I bought for 5$. The crowbar wasn't in too bad of a state but it needed some love. And since I like shiny things I decided to give it a really nice polish.
The first step was to remove the paint. For this, I used paint stripper but after letting it soak for several hours, not much had happened. So I decided to use electrolysis which not only removes all of the rust, but also all of the paint.
After cleaning the crowbar in soapy water I soaked it in oil overnight. There was damage to the crowbar where a small piece was chipped off, I fixed this by welding it.
The next step was to grind all of the trim lines and pitted surfaces to get an even surface. For this, I used my Dremel rotary tool, a hand file, a mouse sander, and my random orbit sander.
The sanding was very tedious and took many hours, especially tricky was the inside radius where I had to use my mouse sander.
I sanded everything with gradually finer sandpaper up to P600, finishing off with P1200 by hand. After that, I polished the crowbar to a mirror finish.
The inside of the handle was left original, I painted this with black Hammerite paint which gave it a nice contrast with the polished parts.
There were two markings on the crowbar, one was the number 71 which I painted white and the second one was barely visible. I would appreciate it if I could get some help identifying this second marking. Also, I'm not sure what the end with the hook was used for, leave a comment if you know the answer. EDIT: The crow bar belonged to the swedish state telecommunications company and was probably stolen at some point ;)

It looks lovely, but, it’s not really restoration, more an upgrade. It was originally a cheap, silver painted workaday bar, now it is a boris valijero space fantasy hero bar that would be a shame to sully with use. I think, overall design and quality of steel aside, often the difference between good and lower quality tools lies in the standard of finish applied.there is an amount of turd polishing here, but the technical skill is really cool. If the prop department would let me, I would break into the deathstar with this.
