Man that is so sick! From the massive pushrods and cylinder to the glorious old school font on the crane, just a joy to behold! I used to work on modern Jennbacher 6 series gas engines, running on biomethane, outputting 3.3 MW (electrical, about 6MW of heat generation which is the main function)! V16, 6liters per cylinder. That turbo spooling up is something else. Uncanny how advanced and efficient ICE's have become. Thanks so much for sharing

I worked in several power plants in the US Air Force between 1970 and 1990. The largest was at Vandenberg AFB, CA where we had 4-1000KW or 1 Megawatt each generators with Worthington engines. They had a 12" bore and 15" stroke. We supported Titan satellite launches. I was there 1973-1974

I can't believe they allowed visitors to climb upon the engine platform especially when it was running. Here in America the liability insurance company would prohibit it or they wouldn't provide coverage. Because someone would manage to get hurt and find some pos lawyer to sue the museum for a couple million dollars. Thanks for the video. Awesome example of Teutonic engineering. Interesting, no valve springs.

Small high performance engines aren't that efficient than this one.
The car engine of same HP will consume 10 times more fuel than this beefy engine.
Car exaust pipes get red hot, wasting heat & needs direct cooling...but these don't need active cooling and exaust pipe is way cooler than you might think.
