First time I've ever actually seen them singing , video wise, other than the movies. Time sure does fly. Still kind of cool to see Festus real young.

I had the EP of this song from when I was 4 years old. I still have it. This is my favorite song of theirs.

I think I saw this film on TV when I was very young. I looked here and could not find a good list of the films, plots, and personal. That would be helpful. I don't think Roy and Doss look anything alike.
When I met them with Bob Nolan they were playing pop country songs. They said that if I wanted to see those old songs performed I should go see Riders in the Sky. Riders in the Sky was a knock off band. When I met Bob Nolan he had to hold himself up by the frame of a door as we talked. I didn't say much. I was in shock. I couldn't believe that it was the same guy from the old films who had skin tight shirts? I knew how Bill Monroe had held up over the years. Bill was much more healthy and worked on his land every day. Bob Nolan was a victim of too many bars and too many drinks. Too much time between shows. You have to have something to keep you busy and not drink yourself to death. They said they worked over 300 days a year. Bob Nolan had just re-joined the band. Their fiddler by the name of Armstrong had just quiet or died, I not sure.
Bill Monroe never drank. I knew Monroe very well.

Look here! Everybody's Dancin' - Room Full Of Roses Has the same line up as this one. It is for sure from a movie. These guys don't even change their shirts. FInd the full movie and see what leads up to these films. I posted the link to the full movie, but I don't think TH-cam will let that through.
Just Google "Everybody's Dancin Sons of the" and you will find it. At the end of the film you will find this clip.

This must be before Bob Nolan joined the band. It has Roy Rogers in his place. By the time I met them on the Russian River, Bob Nolan was the only original member and he looked bad. I just remember Bob Nolan holding himself up by hanging onto the door frame. They also couldn't perform any of the old material. As a teen that grew up on their 78s I just couldn't speak. I mean, Bill Monroe was in good shape and going strong. Why not Bob Nolan I asked myself. He had this big pot belly. Their fiddler had left and they wanted to hire me. I didn't want to play that sh-t. I would have liked to play the original tunes like what you see here.

Well you're off a little. This is after Bob left and Roy is not shown here. I'm not sure which one you think is Roy. This is late 40s or early 50s.
Bob was one of the founding members so there is no "before Bob Nolan. Bob died in 1980, I think you may have him mixed up with someone else.

Roy is second from the left. Always look for the guy with squinty eyes.
After all these 50 years, you still don't have a clue what Roy looks like. man...
      Clean your glasses man.

I met Bob Nolan in the late 1970s. He was bad off, far from the guy who could fit into those fitted shirts anymore. Bob is not in this lineup. This is a scene from a movie. Maybe in the movie plot Bob was off doing something else, but I don't see him here.

The line up here from our left to right is shug fisher, Tommy Doss, Ken Curtis, Hugh Farr, Karl farr and Lloyd perryman No Roy. Maybe you are watching on a small phone screen. I never met Bob but I am pretty knowledgeable on the pioneers they have been my favorites for well over 50 years and yes they had some times they were low on good help as they are now and the late 70s after loosing Lloyd Perryman was sure one of those times.
It looks like you are mistaking Tommy Doss for Roy.
Bob recorded an just before he died and his singing was about the same as ever though the background music did not go well with the songs.
Bob retired from the pioneers in 1949 but still recorded with them well into the 50s. Well I imagine you have heard enough about the pioneers so I'll say have good evening.
