- In this video tutorial, I walk you through all the steps from downloading to opening, then to editing and cutting an SVG, in Brother Canvas Workspace.
While I'm no professional, I wanted to help answer some questions that are often asked, and have a tutorial for those that are new to this machine or electronic cutting machines.
I hope this tutorial is helpful. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)
The Cricut tutorial can be found here - • Using SVGs in Cricut D...

OMG THANK YOU!!! I really needed this for my Scan n Cut sdx 330D!!!! This is the newest model as far as I know and it recognizes the thickness of what is to be cut. It has an auto blade and a rotary blade. (this is what I have). I use the auto blade for cutting vinyl.
Thank you for sharing this information! 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! Still learning my machine and this really helps!
You're very welcome! I hope this helped a bit. 😊❤️
Would u happen to know how to curve text around an object or have a video on it? All of the videos I’ve seen have the old Canvas Workspace layout. Thx
Sorry, that is not something I've done. 😔
I don't have 12 x 24 mat, can I save as 12 xx 24 but cut one piece at a time on 12 x 12?
In Cricut, you can select the 12x12 mat. However, if the pattern pieces are bigger than 11.5" x 11.5", you won't be able to use your machine.
thank you for the information

You're welcome! 😊
No they do not give you a choice of fabrics. The never models have an auto blade that can tell how thick and automaticity cuts it. On older models like mine the cm900 you have to change your blade depth and pressure then you can do a test cut, you get to know each fabric and what they need to be. I think it’s set at a 12 inch mat as that is what comes with the scan n cut, you have to purchase the 24” Matt. The main difference is you can scan designs you want to cut into it and you can scan your fabric and then place the svgs on to it, which minimises waste.
Thank you so much for sharing this information, I really appreciate it. I meant to ask the friend I know, who has a Brother, before I filmed this, but forgot. 🤦🏼♀️ Again, thank you! 😊
