Man...where were you 3 weeks ago when I had my GW 1500 apart to install new Polk speakers! Now I think I will tear it all apart and do it the RIGHT way...your way. Thanks, great info and excellent editing (from a video guy).

Thanks for the vid. Had no sound from the front even after replacing the speakers. Discovered I was missing the fader knob and in place of that there were some cables bridging the fader connectors and sound only from the rear. Had to buy a used fader control knob to get back sound from the front too.

You know what. You just might have solved my problem with my audio on my 93 gl1500. Maybe the harness is disconnected. I have sound but only from the right front speaker. I turn the fader to the left and the sound shuts off. Hmmm. But it’s only the right front speaker 🔊 that works. Not the back one at all. I’ll look into it and do what you done to disconnect the fader and see what I got. Very Helpful video. Great. Thanks.

I know this is an old video but does anyone know why AM would play but not FM?

how do connect your rear speakers without the fader

Ken Elford - you can unplug the fader to remove the rear speakers from the mix which leaves just the front speakers obviously. The rears are just a slave that runs from the fader/splitter if that makes sense. On my bike, the front speaker wires had an extra set of terminals that you could hook into at the front speakers. Then all you would have to do is run new wires to the rear to slave/split the front signal to the rear speakers. With an amp, all you'd need to do is run the front speakers only back into the amp and then run separate wires from the amp to the front and rear speakers. There are other ways to do it and it depends on the type of amp you have and if there is or is not a fader in the mix.
