This encounter sets up the raid decently well, and is a very straight forward encounter. A good entry point for getting into raid solos.
07:29- Encounter 1 & 2 Transition
10:20 - Solo Enter the Root / Scission Encounter

Probably the easiest encounter in the raid, but it can be annoying with sword tracking at times. Outside of that, it's a very simple connect the dots memory game.
21:28 - Encounter 2 & 3 Transition
26:19 - Solo Zo'Aurc, Explicator of Planets

This was the least fun I've had doing any solo encounter in a long time. It's not hugely difficult, but some challenges just don't feel rewarding to complete, nor fun to do. This was the epitome of that to me.
41:00 - Encounter 3 & 4 Transition
46:27 - Solo Nezarec, Final God of Pain

Unfortunately, it's another encounter that just ultimately wasn't very fun to complete. It is one you can get very consistently after a bit of practice. But other than it feeling annoying being constantly slowed, booped up and chased around, it's a pretty straight forward fight.
With the encounter details out of the way, here's the answers to the most common questions:
1. Why post this when Solo Flawless is possible?
I just like to have a compilation of all of the raid solo clears, including my first clears, regardless of what else is possible. I also never planned on doing the Solo Flawless this season, which leads into the next question.
2. When Solo Flawless Root of Nightmares?
As I mentioned above, I didn't have any plans to do it this season. As it may already be evident, I'm just extremely burned out from Destiny 2 right now, and I didn't enjoy this raid at all. I've been doing challenges in Destiny for over 7 years now, pretty much non-stop, and it catches up with you. At the start of WQ I felt similar, but that time I had Elden Ring to break things up a little bit, so it wasn't as bad. Lightfall came, and after all of the grinding it caught up with me. So the idea of having to spend any more time doing challenges in this raid right now doesn't seem appealing.
3. Why leave it until so late in the season?
Content-scheduling wise, it doesn't make much sense for me to do these challenges earlier in the season when there's other things to post. I usually leave them until later in the season, as it fills in the gaps when there's nothing else and the game is slowing down. I've also never been one to care about WF or anything like that, my only goal has always been to do what is possible and be consistent with it.
As for my thoughts on the raid being possible to solo: I'm personally not a huge fan of it, but ultimately I'm not too fussed. While I do like the fact you can do solo raid challenges (especially as the identity of the channel), I don't think it should be possible by simply having one person being able to do all of the mechanics and meeting the damage checks. But sometimes maybe a simple raid is nice to have.
For the raid itself, aesthetically they've done extremely well. Gameplay-wise, it felt absolutely awful to me. This was the least enjoyable raid I've done. I'm not sure if that's just due to me being burned out, but I just felt bored and uncomfortable while playing this whole raid (for lack of a better description). That's probably not a reflection of the current state of the game either, just my own feelings. The core gameplay is fine, I'm just finding myself bored by solo challenges recently.
All of that just sounds really negative, and that's not my intention - so I apologise. And to be clear, of course I have no plans to quit or stop, and I will continue to do every single individual raid solo that's possible, as I always have. I'll also revisit the Solo Flawless RoN at a future date too, assuming it's still possible. But right now, I want to take it easy until the new season, and I'm giving myself a bit of a breather to enjoy other games during the next few months too.
Going forward, there's a few big games I'm interested in covering on the channel and playing this year. Remnant 2 being the biggest of those, which I can't wait for. Lies of P I'm also interested in seeing, and hopefully finding some time for Wo Long.

As someone who plays a couple nights a week and still got burnt out near the end of the season, I can’t imagine the burnout you and other content creators feel. Helluva run though. Congrats!

There is nothing wrong with taking breaks and some time-off from the game at all, if anything it is probably the healthy thing to do.
Take all the time in the world if you ar burnt out, obviously sad to hear that you are, but there's nothing you can do about it besides taking breaks. Enjoy the other games you mentioned and do the SF whenever you care. You will get the clear soon enough

I took a year break and came back the start of this season and man was it worth it had so much fun catching up and doing the strand campaign nah that I’m almost caught up power wise I can do things like master nightfalls and raids
Eso, you are an inspiration to many of us, as a relatively new player (2 years of D2 to be exact) I've learned a lot from your content. To see you being consistent all the time and clearing these challenges leaves me just in awe. Thanks to you I learned how to play warlock and titan (I main a hunter). Thanks to you I found the courage to attempt solo dungeons, a feat I thought to be impossible when I started playing. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for that.
Having said all that, and I believe many of us share the feeling that you don't have to apologize to any of us for not liking aspects of the raid or the challenges it entails. Burnout is not a laughing matter, so take your time and take care of yourself. In the end, Destiny is a platform which enables us to accomplish something, however it also is just a game and as such it shouldn't come at the cost of your wellbeing. seeing eso do all of these things, who is probably just a normal person irl, really inspires me to do things i wouldnt have the bravery to do. all of these solo raids, dungeons, etc, really make me feel that i can do these things and a lot more, if i just put the time into it. thank you eso and keep doing amazing things.

Dope af! This was awesome man, you’re a legend in the community. Maybe you should take a break from destiny for a while. Maybe not a full break since the new season is coming up but maybe just do the important stuff like story missions and just spend your time on other games. You’re one of the most consistent destiny content creators and we appreciate everything you’ve done so far so if you need to take a break, no matter what game you play we’ll be here. I don’t play nearly as much as some do and even I got burnt out so trust me, we get it. Take care of your self man and again, great job 🙏🏽

You are the true god/king of destiny. As for being burnt out, I get it..i myself am taking time away from destiny too, im just sorry to hear your feelin burnt out. Destiny can have a big impact on mental health I’ve found so yes take your time and enjoy other things, I’ll still be subbed no matter if it’s destiny or other games, hopefully some time away can reinvigorate you
Regarding the description about whether or not Solo Flawless is gonna be possible in the future, it might be impossible until something powerful comes in since Starfire is crucial to the damage checks, and it's getting nerfed.

I don't blame you for not doing the Solo Flawless this season. Your comments around Explicator are exactly how I felt, and spending 25 minutes to get to Explicator to have some random wipe is not enjoyable at all.
How are you randomly getting Restoration x2 for 3 seconds without using phoenix dive? It happens multiple times and it's difficult to tell from the footage what is proccing it.

What makes Blowout the better option over Hothead? Just curious
Drops multiple perks whereas Hothead no longer does, better origin trait, rolls with Frenzy. This one is kinda subjective but the sight is also leaps and bounds better on Blowout than Hothead imo
