That’s a great set up , my only issue with that type of setup is if you need to do a wood run etc it means packing everything down and risk losing your camp site . I’m a 62yr old bloke and find an Oztent RV5 plus the best setup for my travels , its quick and easy to setup and pack down but leaves your car free to get wood , go for a fish or a Quick Look around the area . I mainly travel solo and have no issues setting up a super comfortable camp .
Awesome 16min video, always a bit of a worry when watching these types of videos But I can relate to how you measure things, your top of a range Brown wire (the one with the loop +). That was an awesome demo of what really matters. Thanks from Lismore NSW Auzz
Thanks mate. Sometimes I worry about such ling videos. But at the end of the day, there was nothing I wanted to cut out, it all mattered. I appreciate it, thanks mate
I have the same setup! 76 Series Cruiser with 30 Second Awning and walls although on a Rhino Rack roof rack. This is my second 30 Second Awning and they really are so good. Next for me is a fold down table on the inside of the bigger rear door to give me somewhere to prepare food and then maybe install some lights.
Hi Shayne. Great setup. I use kings awnings and a push up tent for stays over 2 days and a swag for overnights at the beach or with my son. Looking for award to seeing more of your videos.
Great review. One little issue I had is the straps always get caught when you close the door. Now I've developed a habit to fold them up. Also the upper rings for the straps always get caught when you pack the awning. I also replaced the tie down strap with a ratchet rope, lighter & easier to use. I got the 2.1m version for weight saving, but now find it not quit enough space. I'll get the 2.7m one if I had to buy it again.
Ratchet rope is a great idea mate. I also considered the 2.1m I ended up getting a tape measure and marking around the vehicle at the pivot point to see the footprint of the 2.1 Decided I wanted the larger one then.
Would like to see one of these 270 awning manufacturers incorporating a awning tent ,zip on with intergrated floor like arb awning room .As you commented safer of ground RTT climbing ladders in the middle of the night can't be taken lightly particularly when travelling solo or remote .Thanks for review happy travels
Swag & roll out side awning when solo. Mounted to uprights of removed roof rack for fuel economy. Add rack & rooftop tent for more room & privacy/shelter with wife, busy campgrounds &/or dodgey weather.
Nice video and set up, most striking part of all though was the "slow down" advice ! Who cares how long it takes to set up a tent, awning, fire or deflate the tyres. Isn't the idea of getting out to escape the deadlines.
What do you use for the gap in the rear for rain? though of moving the awning forward to close the gap? i moved my rhino batwing forward and it fixed the problem ☺
Not too much I can do about that. If I move the rack forward, the large reversing light bar I have, wont be able to hit the ground. Its a trade off. Im sure I could put something up there if needed in the rain.
Good video mate. Question what is it like to pack up, I have another brand and the bag is to small. Five minutes to deploy and twenty minutes to do the zip up
I bought the wedgetail rack mainly because it was light at 32kg but that damn lip is a pain in the ass for fitting awnings. Non of the brackets people make fit and the one they design for the 270 degree awnings has so many moving parts. Why would you put a damn screw where people mount the awning? Thanks for pointing this out.
Great down to earth video had to laugh at your comment about roof top tents I’m 64 and still climbing into one keep up the good work mate at least your not flashing your tits like most vids out there 🤣🤣🤣
great vid, i use a single swag for winter, double swag for summer and Rv-4 for rain camps. keep making awesome vids mate!
I looked at the RV4 before the trailer. Its a bloody good bit of kit. Thanks mate

Great vid. Looking forward to more as you build your channel. No roof top for me, getting too old and fat. Still love getting out though.
Thanks mate, I appreciate it.

Ah nice mate. When I did the rear drawers, I had the table incorporated into them. Having a table there is so convenient.
wired the wiring for the wiring!
Looks terrific! Great setup
Cheers mate. Very happy with it for sure
I really enjoyed your video.
Cheers mate

30 second awnings actually have exactly what youre after mate. You will see it on their website .
Swag & roll out side awning when solo. Mounted to uprights of removed roof rack for fuel economy. Add rack & rooftop tent for more room & privacy/shelter with wife, busy campgrounds &/or dodgey weather.
Nice one mate

Exactly! I often laugh about this "X bit of kit can do X task 1.5 seconds faster".... But it will only cost you $500 more saving you so much time.

Thanks mate. Its really quite good. Although I dont bag the walls. I fold them up and they live on the kaon shelf.
So, do you get a LH and RH 270 or a centre fit 360deg? Would be smart. Great vid. Thanks!
For this one, its only a LH. I think the regular 30second one come in LH or RH

It had me stuck for a while. Im still very happy with the rack overall.
How many poles do you need?
Really depends on the walls you have. I have the one that comes with it as well as 3 additional poles. If you buy a wall kit, it comes with the poles.

HAHA thats gold mate. Good on you! Thanks for watching.
