Michel' Legrand deserves a LOT of credit for writing one of the most gorgeous scores the silver screen has ever seen. It doesn't get any better than Legrand and Streisand.
Just love the facial expression of Barbra, she's like a proud mother, seeing her grown up successful. i can feel that she's proud of her creation 'yentl'. AND I THINK SHE DESERVED TO BE PROUD. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIE i'VE EVER SEEN.
Ladies & gentlemen, learn from this supremely gifted artist. Every composer's dream to have his work sung by. The greatest female vocalist of the century. Her name is Barbra, This is such a wonderful piece of clip I've always wanted to see, a true star at the peak of her powers
Barbara is a true talent, has the goods, can walk the walk. I'm a singer and she was one of the key inspirations for me. She comes from an era when you had to sing, act, dance, play it for laughs, play it for sorrow, all equally well. She's one of the very few who really do it. She's completely original. I think it's interesting that when a male director or leader is tough, demanding, doesn't put up with bullshit he is a "tempermental genious". If it's a woman she's a "bitch". Babs is "Stellar!
And that's why "Yentl" is such an excellent masterpiece because Barbra Streisand took risks, experimented, and is a perfectionist that doesn't stop her from getting work done but finding out what it needs to improve
she's absolutely right and why are they arguing with her...As one who worked with her, she knows her stuff and i' m grateful that I was of a like mind...
I don't know why, but the Yentl soundtrack always reminded me of Christmas....which I know sounds odd given the context of the movie, but still it has that special Christmas feeling for me. Maybe it's the old fashioned orchestrations.....maybe the beautiful singing....maybe I first saw it around the holidays? I don't know. Anyone else?
Amo que sea capaz de estar hasta el mas minimo detalle, es una artista tan completa, tan meticulosa con su trabajo, buscando una perfeccion que no existe pero que trata de acercarse lo mas proximo a esa perfeccion.
Maybe, just maybe if all those who have regurgitated this unfair persona of her being a 'ball-breaker' & an 'unapproachable bitch' had eased off on her she might just have been more amenable. She would never have been castigated the way she has been had she been a man. Given her own opinion of herself, her self-proclaimed insecurities, her fears etc;it's just surprising she didn't end up in rehab',like so many others in her industry have. She's proved herself time & again.
"Her Book" means her written notes on her lyric sheets. She is handed the sheet music and she moves and adjusts notes and pauses according to the way she likes to sing. That is what Marilyn was referring to.
She’s a musical genius but, like some other musical geniuses (Sinatra, Ella, Pavarotti, McCartney) she can’t read music! It’s an irony I don’t understand. If she had spent some time learning basic music notation, she could’ve expressed her wishes much easier.

Barbra Streisand is a gift from God for us all.
Yes. Thank you God.
We are all a gift from God. Some just choose to go the route of evil.

This woman is simply a dream, she is a true genius
Love that satisfied look that comes in starting at 2:48
So rare that she actually acknowledges her greatness!
Omg Yes! I'm back here to see it again and again.. I just can't forget her smile here. I love her! ❤️
@@barbraevergreen me too and I have watched a lot also
I love the way she looks. So unique looking.
Love her perm, seeing her work with the Bergmans, super-hot young Mandy Patinkin 🔥, the “downbeat” convo… everything!

As always Barbara's diction, timing and voice are absolutely impeccable! Than you so much Barbra, xx
And more than that...the BEAUTY of that magical voice!!!!
One of the best movies ever created.
And that's why "Yentl" is such an excellent masterpiece because Barbra Streisand took risks, experimented, and is a perfectionist that doesn't stop her from getting work done but finding out what it needs to improve
love her eyes, pure soul!
Yentl was a perfect movie, loved it

2:49 where she hears her own money note and just revels in her own singing (rightly so, of course). And she was 100% right about that downbeat!
I love that part with Mandy Patinkin when she's fixing him up.
love watching the "magic in the making".

Having doubts and insecurities doesn't mean being weak...she's a strong but sensitive person.
@@christophepena2212 ... That's not what I was implying or suggesting. No-one could ever accuse her of being weak.
WHERES PART THREE ?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Tenorforte no no, this was in 1996/97 for a remaster, i think it's the version that was used for the DVD.
God Gerlado looks so beautiful. That pink was all wrong I bet Barbra regrets wearing that. Gosh I sound so gay, don't I.
It appears to be the same sweater she wears on the Emotion cover.
Mandy Patinkin is sooooooooooo hot!
What does "give the lady back her book" mean?
"Her Book" means her written notes on her lyric sheets. She is handed the sheet music and she moves and adjusts notes and pauses according to the way she likes to sing. That is what Marilyn was referring to.
Ah .. thanks for the interesting tidbit:-)
