Happy new year mate. It’s amazing how many times I grazed my knuckles before I discovered this little tip so thought it was worth sharing.

Great to hear from you George. I’m working on a few project ideas as I’m really wanting to focus on projects this year. I’m hoping they will all be accessible for beginners so fingers crossed your grandson can get stuck in with some more soon!

Ben i see you have the lumberjack planer. Dont know if youre aware but theyve released a limited edition helical / spiral head planer (only made 50) i have one and its the dogs danglys mate. Reasonably priced aswell i managed to get 10% just by asking for a discount on their fb page. I cant reccomend it enough. So much so im thinking of purchasing the cast iron table saw to replace my rage 5. Looking forward to more vids mate

Hi mate, yes I’ve done a bit of work with Lumberjack as I had some of their tools before I started doing the TH-cam stuff and have always liked it and their customer service has always been great. They sent me this one to try as an upgrade from my Titan one and it’s a considerable improvement. I’m going to be using it imminently for an oak dining table I’m building. Those helical head ones are supposed to be incredible though so nice work on bagging one!
I must admit, their cast iron table saw does look very nice and I’ve seen it in the flesh a couple of times and loved it. Just make sure you enquire about the power requirements as I’ve heard they need a bit of adapting to work properly. From what I’ve heard it’s nothing major and they may have updated it since but make sure you ask mate.

@lionandbear yes I've done quite a bit of research into it. I think it's just a case of putting a slow burn fuse in but that was a couple of years back so you'd like to think they've addressed that issue now. Will you be reviewing the planer in due course? As I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it as it's something I'm thinking of purchasing in the future

@stuartjones1982 yeah I imagine they’ve sorted it now but always worth checking. Like you say, not a big issue though.
Yep I’ll be doing a review on the planer once I’ve used it a bit more as I’ve only really assembled it and ran a few bits through to test it so wanted some real world experience before I give my verdict and overall review.
