Thank you for posting these 3 clips! I really miss seeing Dean Martin on television. I'm happy to say that I've been enjoying collecting his music, movies, TV shows etc for 50 years now. I miss Dean Martin but he's in heaven with loved ones now. 🤗

Kent also sponsored The Dick Van Dyke Show and gave out cartons to the cast. Mary Tyler Moore, then a smoker, preferred another brand, and took them to a store and exchanged them for ones she liked. She told this on- maybe it was Letterman? I saw it. She also told, probably elsewhere, that she and Valerie Harper smoked during shooting breaks, but always hidden from the audience.
Old Dean was always a bit boozy and it suited his laid back nice guy demeanor, and he was one hell of a nice guy 'who'? whom'? no one had a bad word to say about.
It was all part of the act and after a while it kind of became a little old but according to Dean and some of his backstage people would say that people expected this from him so he kept on doing it

I've seen it on the internet but I can't find it even people that were not fond of him say that it was apple juice in his glass which was part of his act
No, he was not. He liked to appear vague and confused, it suited his schtick. Clearly you don't know how to tell if someone is drunk. He had great skin, good colour, and he was very sharp. There was no way that he would have been the highest-paid entertainer in the world if he'd been a drunk.
He acted drunk on certain programs but I think he took a few sips before appearing on shows like Carson's, especially this one. Carson was somewhat impatient.
Not drunk, and you're unable to appreciate a great entertainer. Incredible. Scores of people who worked with him have said explicitly that he was not a drunk, usually drank apple juice; and was a very hard worker. He liked to fool people though, and he was a lot sharper than you are.

Dean Martin imo was underrated comedically. I'd love comedians to speak about him. He was hysterical.
I don’t know about underrated. He was one-half of the greatest comedy team in history for 10 years.
He was a quadruple threat. He could sing, dance, act, and make people laugh. He actually had more hits than Frank Sinatra.
Dean Martin was a great singer, actor and he had a great talent for comedy.
Every guest gets walk-on music but few get walk-off music. Only the greats.

This was all staged. A drunk doesn't know what he's doing and Dean knew exactly what he was doing.
