  • High Performance HMI (Human Machine Interface) is the significantly improved makeover of process control graphics, and remains a hot topic. Many companies are modifying their graphics based on the principles put forth in The High Performance HMI Handbook, and the
    subsequent publications of related white papers and case studies.
    However, there are examples of poor HMI practices now appearing in articles and on the web. Following these can make the resulting HMI actually worse instead of better. In this session, Bill Hollifield, Principal Alarm Management and HMI Consultant with PAS, provides examples of such practices and the reasons for their deficiencies.
