"How the gods didn't know that?!" That's a common misunderstanding I've seen a lot of reactors have. It's important to remember that before the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), most gods were not considered omniscient. They didn't know everything, they couldn't see everything. In fact, many stories exist of humans tricking gods.
When they are speaking to each other they are not actually in the mirrors. It’s all in his head. They just show it like that for perspective and to show how really different they are
The subtitles messed up after Marc said "I want to talk to you." They read "Just let us go." (like the thugs are scared of what Steven did), but the thugs actually SAID "You just let us go.", which is why Marc shouted back "That wasn't me." They're confused that this guy who just let them go is chasing them again.
Rest in peace to Gaspard Ulliel, who played Anton. He died back in January in a skiing accident. 🥀🙏🏼 I’m glad they dedicated this episode to him in the credits.
RIP and long live Gaspard Ulliel (November 25, 1984 - January 19, 2022), aged 37 You will always be remembered as a legend. He portrayed as Anton Mogart in the series.
It's interesting watching this version, in the old comics his gf loved both Steve and Marc, and she just rolled with it when he assumed the roles. She met him as Marc because that's his true born identity and she met him before he changed (Marc was working as a hired gun for the villian that went on to kill her dad). It's a different gf (Marlene in the older books), and her archeologist father was killed by a villian, but in this version I'm thinking maybe Marc or the mystery personality might have killed Layla's father.
As nice as Steven is, he really needs to know when he's in a life-or-death situation and just let Marc do his thing. Calling time out to reason with cultist assassins is never gonna work.
@The Homies, 20:34 "I owe my victory to you," is Arthur taking a victory lap. With Khonshu out of the way, there is no one left to stop him. The other gods are blind to what he's doing and Khonshu was the only one policing Ammit's followers. With Khonshu imprisoned, Marc cannot access Moon Knight's powers, which includes the ceremonial armor that heals him instantaneously in fights. Lucky for Marc, however, he has a third persona, Jake Lockley. He hasn't been mentioned by name yet, but he's the savage that killed the men in this episode during the chase and is also likely the one who saved Steven in the village in the first episode too. Killing isn't Marc's M.O.. He'll do it if he has to, but as we've seen here, he avoids it when possible. In the comics, Steven was a Bruce Wayne type persona Marc used to get information from social elites. In the MCU, Steven is an awkward intellect. Jake in the comics is a taxi driver who gets information from the rough parts of town, and it looks like in the MCU, Jake is the rough one; the one who fights like a total savage. Now that Marc is without Khonshu, it's looking like he's going to have to rely on Jake to get them over the finish line, whether he likes it or not. Steven and Marc are down for the count, and with them out of the picture, the weaker persona, Jake should finally be able to push forward--the longer he's in control of the body the stronger he'll become over the body. Jake is likely the one responsible for Layla's father's death. He's likely the one responsible for killing the other archeologists at the dig site too, but maybe not. Marc went to the Alps to recover the scarab from Ammit's cult, meaning they got the scarab from Layla's father. Something happened at that site and we don't know enough information to make good guesses yet. Marc was there, but Marc was also dying there or died there. This week's episode will likely cover this story. Can't wait!

The Gods should really investigate more instead of just taking Arthur at his word lol. Layla and Steven are so cute! idk if it would be cheating or not haha

They really are doing their research for this series. And a continued first-rate performance from Oscar Isaac. This really, really is a cut above the usual Marvel fare.

It's frustrating for us to watch Steven keep jumping in and stopping Marc from killing people, but keep in mind that he's not a violent person and he's basically watching someone else kill people using his hands. It might be ill advised for him to stop Marc, but it's understandable.
@@white-noisemaker9554 That doesn't change what it looks like to Steven, though. As far as he knows he's the original. It's not helping for him to take over in the middle of fights like that, but it's understandable why it happens.
