Miss those days. We evacuated a Amoco rig in 25' seas , they swung out on gym rope. Craziest day out there . Hurricane hit and helicopters didn't make it in time.
Been there Seen that . Easily said than done. Have fallen in the water and rescued in time. Need balls of steel doing this. Those were the good old days. 👍😊🙏
No . During the day. Thanks to the Supply vessel Captain who had the presence of mind to pull out , if not I would have been crushed in between the jacket and stern of the vessel. 😊
@@markusjones5215 Well yes. It was a frightening experience. After being pulled out of the water I wasn’t able to stand and was trembling. Took me almost an hour to get back to normal. God Bless that Captain and the crew who pulled me out. It wasn’t the fright of falling but the thought of getting crushed. 😌
Got off of the shelf and on to deep water and never looked back. No more doing this in January in the middle of the night with ice on the swing rope and ice on the deck.

That really wasn't that bad. Judging but what I could see from the back door and Stern control Windows that's about $120 to 125 ft older Swift ship that's not like it was 155-ft Breaux hull that weighed 150 tons and doesn't move. Them guys had all kinds of chances to swing. I've swung in 15 ft I've been dropped with a personal basket and 25 ft in the middle of a hurricane with 80 mph winds... You going to work this job you better grow a pair.
