Blue Cypress is my favorite. I went down in February 3 years ago. I caught several 4-5lb bass that weekend. The last day I witnessed a 13# beast being photographed and released at the ramp. A guide and client had caught her on a shiner.

Can't believe that you didn't mention Reedy Lake. Just a few miles South of Walk-in-water. "Frostproof" I live on Reedy and in the last 45 years I have caught and released so many 8-12 pounders that I'd be afraid to guess. Roughly 4000 acres with depths from 6ft to a 18ft trench that runs over 1 mile on the South side. Structure galore too

Lake Rousseau is underestimated. Approximately 5000 acres and home to some big bass as is Orange lake.

I have caught giant bass over 10-12lbs in the winter haven chain and several 10-14lbs bass out of saddle creek… My biggest was 29.5” long and 24” in diameter caught in saddle creek… Never reported any of them but have been in the paper for a few of them.

@@kstenzel2010 trophy bass, and gigantic blue gill and shellcrackers. Huge, 10 inch average, up to 12 inches. I also believe there are several FL state record Specks in Mattie, which it is known for. These lakes are in Auburndale. But the best lake in my opinion, Crooked Lake in Babson Park. Gigantic and deep 7 miles long, up to 60 foot deep

That's simply not true. I've been living in central Florida since 1969, and mudfish & gar have always existed in great numbers all across the state, they are native species. They don't affect trophy bass quality at all. The vast majority of people who eat bass nowadays eat ONLY the little bass, because they actually taste much better & cleaner than larger bass. The FWC biologists set daily bass limits for a reason. If nobody kept any of the smaller bass, they would eat up all of the forage, and eventually, the numbers of trophy bass will dwindle. Now what ya really want to worry about are tilapia, pleco's, and snakeheads. All 3 are invasive all across Florida, and causing all kinds of damage & other problems, including competing with our native species.
