    You can ride the master fader 'in the box'... just as you can an analogue desk

      Yeah his comment on that also confused me

      These comments are from a few years ago, I bet Mr. Brauer was not totally ITB then...

      Yes, this is possible in the box if you gain stage correctly

      @@paaao that's the same rule for 'out of the box' too... you're basically just manipulating the master output fader

    These kind of tips are useful to improve a mix, not like the recipes that some people sell online... 👏👏

    I thought MB was going more in the box. I see a tonne of analogue gear in the background.

    Sounds familiar to me.. :) (check out "spin", a song of mine that Michael mixed).

    This is good but a hint of analog purist cork sniffing elitism.

      Analog is simply better, are you saying you wouldn’t use what he has to your advantage?

    • @dougleydorite
      @dougleydorite 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sam-zo2ho sure, if money were no option, I would have one hell of a hybrid mix setup. But I wouldn't say analog is better in 2022. In regards to the analog gear that I have experience with, I would say that analog gear has the leading edge when it comes to getting unique character to the tonal properties of what you're trying to create. IF you are committing your tracks on the way in, I would rather use analog. but for hybrid mixing, you are going in and out of converters and the signal is being degraded each time

    A real audio engineer can tell you, any song w loudness etc... no longer the dynamics are left....

    I feel like everything he's saying becomes somewhat irrelevant when modern mastering engineers compress and then brickwall limit the whole thing up to zero so the dynamics are all but destroyed ...

      the trick is NOT to go to mastering :) (or attend the session).

      Idk what “mastering engineers” you’re talking about but no professionals do that
