- With many talented gunslingers in Fallout, I look to rank the best of the best when it comes to long range combat. Lets rank the top ten snipers in the entire series and see if you agree with the rankings.

Everybody playing NV knew Boone was #1
Plenty of memes where you're just chillin, walking down the road and get jumpscared by a random kill cam.
Oh got i remember when i was playing trying to sneak down the raod next to quarry just to see a kill cam and immediately running because boone pissed of 3 deathclaws
I had to mod mine so I could turn off companion kill cams I was running like 3 perception and stuff was just dying lol

The Archimedes II engineers were apparently capable of sniping something from space, potentially one of the best long range shots in the series

We all knew it was Boone. Boone paired with ED-E is sniping gold
Always a guess what happens first, ED-E blasting the combat jungle, or Boone causing random kill cams.

Dead wives and good with sniper rifles go together pretty well according to Bethesda
Meaning with a combat rifle modified for sniping the male soul survivor would be a pretty good shot
@@deniser9625 it is ironic that the .308 Combat Rifle does more DPR than a .50 Sniper. FO4 makes no sense, and do not get me started on the absurdity of pipe weapons and the Lewis Gun Assault Rifles.

Common mistake. It isn't an anti-"material" rifle. Materiel (with an E) refers to military equipment and machinery. It's a rifle for shooting engine blocks out of trucks and buttons off of blouses.

@@boomguy-rk4vm Of course. Materiel isn't a word most people see outside of that context so it's perfectly normal to get that wrong. But maybe some folks will see it and get to be the smart guy who informs one of their friends.

Number 0 would be the Dragonborn, who just hit an alchemy-exploit boosted stealth critical so hefty that every game sharing the Bethesda engine felt it
Recently got into playing New Vegas for the first time, and Boone being in first place makes sense... The amount of sudden killcam jumpscares I got is too many to count and I'm not even half-done with the game.
My personal favorite thing to do in the game is bringing Boone into Caesar's tent.
He just shoots the guy in the face as soon as the game finishes loading, I love it.
I like to think that the last person Boone comes after in the legion ending is the Courier.
Likely in the heart so it actually kills him this time
I tried to imagine what sort of conversation would be had, because I seriously doubt Boone wouldn’t decide to do that one up close and personal given the implicit betrayal of doing his quest only to join the Legion. I wonder if anyone has made a comic around that idea.
Boone is almost like turning god mode on. With the right sniper or explosves build along with him the game gets so easy even on Very Hard. I have to force myself not to use him as he makes the gsme just too easy. This is overall a great list. As always thanks for the video!
Randall Clark goes absolutely medieval in the Vault 22 survivors. His story would have been an awesome DLC or mod.
Most of new Vegas dlc's center around the courier so I don't think so
Christine would have made a high spot on the list, only if it were not for father elijah activating his distraction at little yangtze. Instead, Christine left her rifle behind, letting us become the true sniper, a reminder of what could have been.

Why has Bethesda not taken an iterative approach to their games and kept older weapons in the pool of guns. I want the dedicated sniper from 3/nv and fallout 2 as a legendary.
They're crap at making games, pretty clearly. I mean, really, they turned the perfectly solid chaingun from 3/Vegas into a NERF toy come 4... But somehow made it an insane chainsaw. Nevermind losing all the gear Vegas added, and some of what 3 had.
Better question: Why did they go the Borderlands approach to 4's weapon pool, where there's a billion meaninglessly tweaked versions of the same dozen guns?
76 has been fixing that the past 2 years.
They've added a bunch of weapons from the older games, such as the Auto Axe and Incinerator.

because their director isn't very good. his ideas are terrible and his game philosophy is trash.

Assassinating someone in their camp, and then evading capture from the people who are drilled and capable of tracking and always ambushing our Courier...Boone is absurdly skilled. I don't even have to give him equipment, he just punches holes through just about anything before it gets close.
Considering my obsession with ranged stealth games, the main sniper in my fallout experience is usually me

My personal favorite is the Boone with the anti material rifle(Gra) .
If I find a powerful scoped rifle I give it to Macready. He's got a hardened combat sniper rifle, a .308 combat rifle, a night vision assault rifle and an enhanced fiery institute laser rifle. Plus a fat man, flamer, Kellogg's revolver, automatic combat shotgun, perforating mingun, and super sledge
Playing as a sniper in modern Fallouts is kind of useless because no matter how stealthy you are the enemies somehow know your location and run towards you.
Unless you have the stealth suit. Ops Anchorage or the waifu

Knight Cpt Dusk says she wants to test enclave power armor with hollow point rounds which make no sense, hollow points are meant to do the most damage against unarmored soft targets. She needs to be using armor piercing rounds against enclave. She lost some credibility in my book for that line.
Top 2 can easily be interchangeable. Boone and MacCready are but amazing companions and have good backstories.
The Reservist's Rifle has a smaller magazine; three compared to normal five.
if only McCready were half as competent as his skills suggest xD

Boone's suicide attack ending needs more attention, I think. It says he killed "scores" of legionaires before being captured, meaning he killed a MINUMUM OF 40 of them, which is absolutely insane in the fallout universe.

Love Dusk but it did bug me that she would talk about piercing enclave power armor with a hollow point.

Based on first impressions from the title, I don’t know how this is a 45 minute video but I will be watching every second.

So many times Boone has scared me by sniping something I didn't know was there until the kill cam popped up it helped that I usually have ede with me as well
Interesting realization (which I blurted out at video because of course, that's totally how comments work): Sniping excellence does not equal kills. Sniping excellence equals accuracy. It's about putting the round where you want it, not the resulting injury. The point of the sniper is mainly to create action at distance. When I'm fighting a Radscrorp with a skull and a star and a teddybear (it gets confusing, the icons, sometimes) next to its name I prefer to be a mile away on a ledge. Then the game becomes becomes ammo v hits.
32:02 I know in Vegas you can snipe people from outside their render distance, I’ve only managed to do so from the cliffs north of cottonwood cove and from the machinery in the middle of quarry junction because those were the only places I knew enough about the enemy movement to guess with my shots and hit them from where I couldn’t see them alongside having a clear “line of sight” for the shots to travel
Might be possible in 3 if the engine is the same but idk where you’d test it
Might be able to get some decent shots on top of megaton (you'd probably have to glitch up there) If I remember correctly if you look in the files of new Vegas there are assets from 3

My first FO4 playthrough was a sniper/stealth build. Then I got the Gauss Rifle and I was really popping domes left and right. After that, I've retired the good and reliable hunting rifle after lasting me pretty much the whole game.
Boone is just the best no question asked when I first got him he took care of my enemies before my medium ranged self could either see or get close enough
If you side with Mr. House, but don't do Boones companion quest, he kills himself
I have beef with something that isn't related to the ranking but is kinda lore. I feel like everyone that says MacCready found his wife out in the wasteland and that it is isn't Lucy from Little Lamplight are just reading off the wiki. There is NOTHING in Fallout 4 that denies that his wife Lucy could be the same Lucy from Lamplight. He would 100 percent tell Lucy he found a job as a soldier and not a mercenary. She doesn't have to be someone new for that to make sense. Just some beef i have with the wiki.

yeah, I kinda figured Boone would be the top sniper. Fallout NV was my first Fallout game and Boone is one of my favorite companions.

For some reason, Barney Rook has been dead whenever I've visited Salem in my latest playthroughs. Not sure why, his gate has been locked every time, and he _should_ have been safe from the 'lurks.
Edit: A few times I've made MacCready the leader of the Minutemen Rangers, a unit of elite scouts and snipers.
Speaking of MacCready, I think it's weird that after helping him find the cure for his son, the kid is never mentioned again. I would _really_ have liked if his companion quest was followed up by his son showing up in the Commonwealth some time later, either moving in with Daisy in Goodneighbour or in a settlement of our choice.

I like Corporal Sterling. He doesn't use the typical ranger rifle. He has is own thing, and that is fine as long as he hits his marks.
Boone #1, Tycho #2. Tycho was badass with a sniper rifle.

Yes, that's a super common bug, happened to me just recently.
Chances are, he spawned in and bugged out, dying immediately. In that case, you may have been able to find his body lying on the overhang above of his front door, where he'll fall after dying in the attic. It's possible for him to bug out entirely and never spawn, but apparently it's much more common for him to simply be dead already. In that case, you can just loot the keys off his body and finish what would have been the quest.
It would be cool if you continued the series with other categories too, smartest person, best melee, just off the top of the head

Actually, the best sniper is the sole survivor with MacCready's perk when it was bugged and gave 2000% instead of 20% headshot accuracy.

the thing with the NPCs in fallout 4 is that they always shoot from the hip so im not sure if they are as good as an equivalent sniper from other fallouts

@@deniser9625 Not when you are indoors. Fo3 Mothership Zeta is what I use up majority off my fat man ammo. One wrong miscalculation and I'm dead. That goes for Fo4 too.:D

They are A.I made to train US soldiers, so their aim would probably be better than real ones to make real fights with them easier

Absalom against makes it sad that FO4 doesn't have faction disguises. Imagine dressing up as MInuteman and being able to enter dialogue with him.
None but Boone could have topped this list. He is easily the best sniper the NCR ever had and could easily end up commanding entire regiments, always signalling the start of an attack with a rapid mind opening via rapid-onset lead poisoning.

Heh, Todd failed to deliver on yet another Fallout thing.
Todd had mentioned they would look into having mods on Fallout 76, found out as of June 10, 2024 , not happening.
They fail to even give an excuse as to why...
Took them 5 YEARS to confirm as well!
