Rincón Waterfall Trinidad & Tobago - The second highest waterfall in the country and so beautiful !

- Rincón is an agricultural community located on the North Coast Road approximately 2 km from the Las Cuevas Beach Facility. Its historical authenticity goes way back to 1795 when Governor Jose Maria Chacon granted 1,250 acres of land to the Spanish Treasurer Jose Ramon Muxica to establish an estate. The Las Cuevas Estate comprised of the Rincon Valley and extended all the way from the Sea to the foothills of El Tucuche.
The prominent peaks of El Tucuche (936m) shadow the Rincon Valley and nestled within its boundaries are several fascinating waterfalls. The most magnificent is the Rincón Falls which has an altitude of 76 metres and is the second highest in the country.

Beautiful informative vid fellas. There's an even more spectacular waterfall further up the mountain called Jabillo(Habio), it's the 3rd highest. It's off the same trail but it's harder to get to.

Where did the name Rincon originate? Did you determine the walkie talkie range? What was the water temperature? Any opportunities or alternate routes to climb further up the falls?

Nice but too far to walk without a 4 x 4, lol! You have the right thing! The trail doesn't look particularly well maintained though. I find that to be an issue at many local nature sites which prevents it from being accessible to more people. I would pay if they actually developed it a little and charged a fee to access.
The fact that it's not accessible to more people, be it by degree of difficulty or lack of maintenance and development, is the reason why some of these gems remain pristine or as close to their natural state as possible because unfortunately not everyone respects the environment.
It’s a difficult one to maintain i think and the rains ect recently did not help to be honest
Yes 👍🏼 we do need to truly keep educating the public in the hope of future change. But you are correct that some of these trails are just difficult as well

@@terroskerro2265 True. However, I also think that everyone (or mostly everyone!) should be able to see and appreciate what we have in our own country. If you've ever travelled to countries big on eco-tourism, you'd see that it's perfectly possible to develop pathways etc which still remain aesthetically in line with the environment. It doesn't have to be like the concrete monstrosities on Maracas or even what they did to Paramin. Charging a small fee will also allow for the continued maintenance of the area and provide employment particularly if you use locals from the area. Trinidad in particular has so much to offer yet it seems that those in authority remain short-sighted when it comes to doing so.

Great video as always you should of passed the other way where you will see blackpool waterfall as well. Also there is Habio waterfall lil further than rincon.
