I'm going on the same journey with leaving the organization and at the same time going through my personal journey for sobriety after struggling with alcoholism for 20 years. I can honestly say without a doubt in my mind that there are far more spiritually conscious and caring people in the rooms of an AA meeting than I have met in five years with the JW's.
You will find life so much more fulfilling free from the JW fear, obligation, and guilt (FOG) that you will not need alcohol. All JW's bring to your door is "the truth that leads to eternal misery".
Here is the problem!!. The JW organisation is not equipped, skilled, committed or knowledgeable enough to deal with most medical issues. Mental health being one most prominent problems. The scriptures say, that all sorts of people will be drawn to God. Therefore, the danger is people in the JW organisation go untreated. And overlooked.
Great story Pony Jean it's great you used your critical thinking skills at 13 ,14 .At that age I stopped believing in the Catholic Church thanks to the hell fire doctrine. I was dumb enough to get sucked into the Watchtower at 27 in 1988 because they didn't teach hell fire and I could meet my dead mother on Earth, she died aged 30 in 1962 ,I was born in 1961. I dissociated in 2018 aged 57 after studying apostate videos for 4 years 2014 to 2018 ,thanks to you tube. Because I was born into a atheist agnostic family I always chased after religion, I've stopped chasing after religion now ,I,m a born-again atheist agnostic again .Justin Porter ex jw ❤️
Yea, it's a long and painful withdrawal exit-period, I've never been a JW, but married to one, but as they tell inside AA, you get along-addicted, concerning myself I've been recovered over those years since 2013, it' like a glue on your mind, but no big issue for me, i was convinced for 30 years ago that the whole thing was a scam
I consider my a very ex- JW. I was diagnosed with complex-ptsd. I made this known to my congregation. They really were not interested. This was very discouraging. And deflating.
@Clifford Brock That is the way of C U L Ts. You are either one of and in the C L I Q U E. If not in the clique they, the rest of the congregation, the back stabbing brown noses, couldn't give a rats tail end about you.
I married my baptised husband when I was unbaptised, they kept holding me back from being baptised this went on for about 3 years, in the end we ran off and got married. After we were marked for a few years but yes unbaptised and baptised do marry.
Pony Jean excellent interview. And thank you again, for your courage, it has been a catalyst for others to get help and realize they can be brave too. We love your 😊‘dumb’ story because ours is dumb too, no one likes to do dumb alone! 🥰♥️🥰
@Eva Arnold There is NO such thing as a "dumb" or "silly" question in a classroom. We might be taken advantage of by skilful orators, but, we are not dumb, just weak at times due to circumstances.
@@robertgrey6101 Thank you, I completely understand. Actually I only picked up on the word because knowing Pony Jean and her humility of being caught off guard that her story was such a big deal and so well received to her audience, and in a very positive way. We (readers) had been there too. I definitely don’t think it’s a dumb story, nor is my story dumb…they are real and raw but yet very healing to know you are not alone 🥰❤🥰
YOU ARE AMAZING. i am so glad i stumbled upon this channel and found this interview. i left watchtower in May of 2021 and have not been able to get over the anger at this org for stealing my humanity and robbing me of my life and my time, and i agree with you, forgiveness is NOT A THING, does not have to be a thing. Bravo. 🎉 i will buy and promote your book. Thank you for what you have done for me (all exjws! ) inside this short video interview.

@@rockpadstudios I'm 6 months sober now and I feel amazing. I'm so glad to be out of that cult because it made me more miserable than anything else.

They must have broken the rules to let you get married without being baptized.
Actually unbaptized publishers can marry a baptized member it is just heavily “frowned upon” and deemed “unevenly yolked”
