Another amazing interview, thank you. Jack is so articulate and authentic and I'm sure it will help those just waking up. I woke up from the cult just a little over a year ago and can relate so much to what he said. I too read Crisis of Conscience in my bedroom sometimes under the covers afraid my husband would find out. I made a pseudonym on facebook, turned off the history of my TH-cam account in fear my husband would see what I was viewing. I tried to salvage my marriage at the beginning and was searching for exJW's who were able to save their marriage after waking up. It turned out my marriage was doomed from the beginning on so many levels but it started me on my journey. I really appreciate listening to Jack from the perspective of an elder and he has helped give me courage to speak out and Vevian, you have helped me to realize I have nothing to fear for speaking my truth.

Where did Jack learn to be so articulate ?
From the same place ( we) apostates and activists ridicule and look forward to extinguishing.(psalm 2:)
The water has been trickling at the center of true worship (ezek 47)
But because of the pains they feel in..many are blaspheming(Rev 16:8-11)
Do we order a burger with cheese in when our mouth has an ULCER because we like cheese...?
Do we head for shelter to get out from no real mortal danger from the HAIL STORM we re experiencing
Not stopping to think that the others with whom we are taking shelter are absolute strangers...
And make small talk about how long we think it might be til we re free to move on after it eases
      Or the scorching heat .

Little did we know..the things we criticised and saw more grounds to dislike when we saw actually serve to
Hilight the accuracy of FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY.
think how joining as a member of the worlds largest organisation for peace and security opened them to the charge of hypocrisy..and being a friend to the image of the wild beast..
Yet if they had not done so
This source of discouragement would not allow those suffering discontent
To make mention of it to their one time brothers..and seeing it work..simply repeat..
And widen the rift they already see
      ..
How well that fulfills hidden prophecy
Where those having the mark of the beast in their hand keep noticing their hands because their hands are always in front of them ..
Revelation 14 :9 & 10 spells out Gods view and what awaits them.

I like the approach of science. Science does not seek the truth. It seeks what is "true" based on all the unbiased facts and evidence we have now. That "true" can change if facts or evidence change. We have little ability to get at what " truth"; so why bother chasing it at the expense of "true". Of course there are exceptions like laws, but don't let exceptions make you miss my point.

Fantastic Information, Thank You. Strongly believe that an educated open minded individual would be open for any conversation. If one have logical evidence for any information and enough evidence to proof a topic, most should be able to listen research for once self and then come to their own conclusion. We basically need to do the work, be open minded and then one will be totally satisfied and believe it or not..learn something. The problem with most people and more so with JW members is that they refuse to research and much rather be a follower since it is easier. Also most people are too afraid of the real truth about life and religion.

Each situation is different if you are a child, dependent because of work situation, or family that are JWs. If you are older and spent years as a JWs, there are difficulties. Too, we put trust in relying on a higher power- choices are made because of teachings.

Most Christian don't believe in a world wide destruction. They don't believe God is capable. If we read the Bible , we get to know who God really like is. That's one of the reasons we have the bible. In it we get to know God's personality. And we can answer questions like is God really capable of destroying all wickedness of the face of the earth. We can come to the Truth.

I listened to the 11th minute.... For those who consider themselves an ex Jehovah witness here the following; Qualities are described which a person can display and which the bible says is the fruit of the spirit. The effect of the fruit is always accompanied by the struggle in man himself, in the flesh. If this results in the exclusion of one or the one's own distancing in dispute through a struggle with what is true and what is not true, then this is still the result of the fruit of the spirit.
It is clear that when the truth has made itself known through the mind, what is really true can never be renounced, but only a united attitude towards the truth can be renounced in some measure. To remain united attitude there will always be division because of the lie and false souls. There is no point in resisting that, hence it is also said that you must love your enemy and so only a positive approach can make a difference, for reassurance in yourself and thus to deprive the lie of its space. That being said, the liar in all evidence is a liar, but in wrong attitude one who stands for the truth is just as much a cheater.
So come on friends get up now, Love is to be made!

I am 25 years out. I left partly because I lost my belief in the (literal interpretation of) the Bible, Joshua 10 : 13, to be exact. If that verse is true, we do not exist, and since we exist, that verse cannot be true.
Now I am more like a modern Gnostic. The early Catholics had like apostolic succession: the leadership knew the earlier leaders who knew the earlier leaders who knew the apostles. Therefore the church became very authoritarian. Gnostics believe that the truth is revealed to you and it is in your heart the way that it is appropriate for your level of soul to understand. You are your own governing body. As for hell, this world is hell, meaning that you are separate from God. The Bible is rather meaningless to me, as any words, because the meanings are different with every individual. Even among the JWs, the same teachings are interpreted in so many ways. I have met a Gnostic, though, who claims that the Bible is a numerical document, but I cannot verify his arguments. There is, also, the very possibility of no God existing. With the JWs, people talk about years wasted. With Gnostics, I am disappointed if the answer is not: well, I lived a good, moral life anyhow.

We might not agree on this point. Muslims believe Mahomet flew to the moon on a winged horse. Their explanation is : God can do anything.
With this reasoning any claim no matter how illogical, can be justified as truth.
For that is simply not convincing.
I could be wrong, however what kind of a test could I perform to check if the stories written in any “Holy Book” are accurate?

I would have been willing to give my life for the organization too, that's how certain I was that they were right. I desperately wanted them to be right. I still wish they were right, but the truth is, once a person wakes up there is no turning back. You're right. Once one accepts it as the truth then we automatically accept whatever is said "even if it doesn't make sense." I'm still a believer. I still believe that the Bible is the word of God. It's too complex to have been written by men. It has the ring of truth. I didn't leave because I wanted to be part of the world. I left over some doctrinal issues. I believe what the Bible says that "Jesus is the mediator for All." I feel there is a problem with the OS doctrine. A problem with 607 BCE and 1914. I believe we will see Jesus in the clouds like Revelation says that we will when he returns. I don't think he had an invisible rule starting in 1914. It makes sense that it happened in 33CE.
I'd love to be more certain about the resurrection (for us) as to whether it will be instantaneous or not. I feel for the Bible to state that those who believe in him "will never die" for that to be true the transformation would have to be instantaneous, otherwise how can one say we never die? To me, if we die for an extended period of time we are dead and then resurrected whether it feels instant or not. I hope this makes sense.
There are also issues with the history of the organization and failed predictions, etc. What's right with the organization? They don't teach the trinity or hellfire doctrine. They don't celebrate Pagan holidays. The majority of JWs try and live decent and moral lives and they preach the good news. The question is are they preaching the right good news? I'm also going to break with just about every ex-JW out there on the next point. In saying that, some agree with me. I think the organization is right with their stance on abstaining from blood. I see no difference between eating it or infusing it. I just don't and I have heard all of the arguments. In saying that, The organizations green light on fractions makes no sense to me either. It's like saying 'a little bit of blood is okay but a lot of it is wrong.' To me it's like saying a little bit of fornication is okay but too much is forbidden. Just like the overlapping generations doctrine it doesn't make sense. So I've kept what I believe to be true and have abandoned the rest.

    • @LittleRadicalThinker
      @LittleRadicalThinker ปีที่แล้ว +2

Let’s say, the Watchtower Bible is also questionable. You don’t have to agree blood is just the symbol of life and give up life to protect the symbol is just the other way around, you don’t have to agree with that. The argument is… complicated, just do things not hurting others, and don’t hurt your conscience.

Former Jehovah's Witnesses have not found the truth outside the organization. The majority have become atheists or agnostics, a large number have joined various religious groups. Many have joined the army of activists in the fight against Jehovah's Witnesses. It is very interesting to see how their own different and contradictory beliefs are not an obstacle here.
What to do if doubts arise? *You don't have to take a position on matters that cannot be proven with the Bible* (607, 1914, generation, etc.). If the Bible is the truth and you believe that everything Jesus said is the truth, just focus on that. I will give one example. See John 4:21-24
Jesus said to her: "Believe me, woman, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you *worship the Father.* 22 You worship what you do not know; *we [Jesus included] worship* what we know, because salvation begins with the Jews.23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the *true worshipers will worship the Father* with spirit and truth, for indeed, the Father is looking for ones like these to worship him.24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”
From these words of Jesus you can see that:
      1. Only the Father is to be worshipped.
      2. Jesus also considered himself a worshiper of the Father ("we worship").
      3. There must be a group ("true worshipers") that worships only the Father.
Jehovah's Witnesses fit this description. If you find anyone else who matches this, we can look for additional details.

@@aivomand7076 you kind of forgot an important component in your argument. The truth part. The JW's don't worship the Father like Jesus did. Jesus was obedient to the instructions given in the law. Psalm 119 goes on and on about how perfect the law is for walking righteously before a holy God. Jesus followed the food laws, participated in all of Yehovah's holy "appointments". Those things are all true and to be obedient to the law/instruction of Yehovah wholeheartedly is worshipping in spirit and truth.
"Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. @@dashulamite Thank you for the answer! However, I did not forget anything, but focused on one particular point at the moment. Who is the true God we should worship? According to Jesus, it is the Father whom Jesus himself worships. In other words, when we try to identify these true worshippers, the most important thing is that they worship none other than the Father. It means the Father and God of Jesus (John 17:3, 1Co 8:6, Rev 3:12). Whether the Father approves of our worship is another important question.

@@aivomand7076 I reread what you wrote and I can't see where you brought out the question, "Who is the true God we should worship?"
You pointed out that only the Father is to be worshipped, Jesus worshipped the Father and, in your estimation, JW's are the only true worshipers...(bringing the scripture you cited into context)...JW's are the only ones who worship in spirit and truth.
When it comes right down to it, I described the true God that we should worship. The God that does not change and can not lie is the One Who gave His law to every generation for a blessing and then said it is truth. The word describes a different God than the one you worship. Your religious leaders have told you the Sabbath is done away with, Yehovah's appointed feasts are not important to attend and you have no dietary restrictions.
Doesn't it say in Deuteronomy that by teaching something contrary to Yehovah's commands you are a false prophet and shouldn't be listened to. Indeed, in another place the word says, "to the law and to the testimony, if they do not speak according to My word, there is no light in them."

You may think Jack is “all that”, but this man is no different from his predecessors.
I have been traumatized by JW’s severely. So, I reached out to this man, after watching your interview with him. He contacted me, we had a brief phone conversation. Then I realized, this man is not different from the place that he came from. He is just starting a new cult. Please don’t offer this man any more air time.
I say this because, upon speaking to the man, the first thing he did was criticized, corrected me, interrupted our conversation to answer another phone call and made me feel stupid. He did not help me, at all, grieve the loss of all, whom I thought to be, friends and family. It was clear to me that he was not interested in my plight, as an individual. Instead, he made me feel foolish, and twisted every thing that came out of my mouth. This man is nothing special, he is a business man and is trying to start a business of religion. A business that has been very prosperous over millennia because people are searching for truth.
By my personal experience with the one phone conversation I had with this man, he is not far from his training, as a trained elder of Jehovahs witnesses, branching out to enrich himself.

@@feartofreedom2972 Cults are not discovered, until people are harmed. However, they are started by a man that is looking for membership and eventually money.
He has a very targeted audience, people that have mistreated by the cult he and I originate from. Easy targets, people without a people, damaged and vulnerable. He also did not recognize the original name of God, YHWH.
So, after he rudely interrupted the conversation, I was having with him, to answer another phone call, I recognized the familiar feelings that I have often received from the cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This man did not want to hear what I went through, after he said I could speak, he quickly dismissed the call, in the middle of my sentence. When he phoned me back, he directed me to his facebook membership page and said he was busy.
If this man was a shepherd, he would have displayed compassion, but he wanted a sign up, not a sheep. He is not a shepherd. His parallel to the elder arrangement in the Jehovah’s Witness cult, was displayed, way more than the example of the Fine Shepherd, Jesus.
If you would like to continue your interviews with this man, that is up to you. Just know you are empowering a man that is promoting a new version of the cult he left. I certain that C. T. Russell did not expect his scriptural findings would become a cult and I am sure this man doesn’t think he is starting a cult.
We will just have to let history repeat itself. You do not need a medium to enter into a relationship with YHWH through Jesus. All you need is faith, love, kindness, understanding, patience and things like these. He did not display these traits, when speaking to me.

You depicted perfectly the ignorance and dismissive traits, the elder arrangement in the JW’s organization arrays themselves with.

@@feartofreedom2972 Oh, and one more thing. To apologize because you think, I felt I was not getting the attention I was expecting, is not an apology at all. Reason being, you are not apologizing for what you did. In fact you flipped the script upside down on my head by saying it was the fault I had undue expectations. FYI, that is a narcissistic trait.
If you are going to apologize, then apologize for what you did, not what you think I was expecting.
