The price point is great and plenty of space to build into it. I like a lot of fans you can run them slower and they make less noise than a few running much faster
I actually was interested in the NV7 but needed 140mm support for my radiator and other fans but I really liked the size. The NV9 supports the fans I've got but is huge. In the end I went for the H6 Flow
I just built in the nv7 and compared to my previous 5000D, and ancient Antec 1200... This case series is amazing! Looks so clean! I keep it on a show desk so the USB being on the bottom is actually exactly where I want it! Keeps it a bit less dusty too being higher up I like to tell myself lol.
Phanteks also sells a 5.5" Display with magnets for that space, only downside being the need for a free HDMI (and the price). Other than that any 3rd party option with magnets or even 3M would work. Screens, LEDs, Custom, graphics/decor, maybe for the hardcore DIYers an extra space for Pump/Water block with a bit of drilling as long as you mind the PSU. Either way really love this case, only thing the O11 Evo XL has on it as the next best case IMO is its ability to move the IO to the more convenient side of the glass, but even then the NV9s is movable so Im pretty sure I could jury rig a custom mount or IDK, let it sit on the desk. Speaking of which, this case may be peak in all thing including price, but If it has one true flaw its that the front IO is still USB 3.2 Gen 2 when mobos have Gen 2x2 by now, but for some reason all case manufacturers are still holding out on us.
I could see those Silent Wings 4 from a mile away on the thumbnail. I love them. I filled my case with them. and to go along I bought a Dark rock pro 5 aswell. Not cheap but Im a fan of them
Had the case and returned it. Cable management is a nightmare and even with a thick 60MM top radiator the case is way too large. I prefer the NV5. Keep up the great work you guys and stay safe.
The bottom fan on the NV5 won’t do much. Plenty of better choices around. The DeepCool Morpheus, for example. Very solid case, includes a riser cable. Not perfect, but for who need the space, a very decent case.
To Leo's point, I think this NV9 is geared for people who are planning to run a custom loop with at least 2 rads in the configuration. Maybe even running 2 separate loops completely with each loop having its own reservoir and pump. 1 for the CPU and 1 for the GPU. In that scenario, you would make better use of the interior space. Last, I thought it was odd that Leo did not use the Phanteks fans that daisy chain with all the RBG capabilities. I think they are called the D30 model? Those fans are thicker and only need 1 cable per row. If I was spending this kind of money, I would go with the big boys that leave me the neatest cable management options, regardless of total cost. You don't buy a NV9 case on a peasant's budget.
It's a shame they couldn't quite fit a 4th HDD spot where the last two SSD's go, but otherwise a very nice looking case with incredible specs (the rear fan space really drew me in for an AIO GPU location). I am still strongly considering it for my own upcoming build, but will end up using it for a build at some point in the near future regardless. Also, extremely odd for them to suggest such a negative pressure system with the fan setups, especially since the side should be essentially acting as a front intake in a case with no front intake. Another thorough review by the KitGuru team.
Such a huge case and no support for 480mm rad. Yes, 140mm is usually quieter for airflow, but less static pressure than 120mm fans. I would take a 480mm case and 4 T30s any day.
A lot of case for the money weldone Phanteks. Alot of money needed to fill it, this case needs large push\pull radiators etc to fill it out and a gym membership to move it 🙂 Will appeal to some no doubt.
I might give this case a try I have the MSI 4090 Suprim liquid X and a 360 radiator for the CPU that has a push/pull configuration and with the Dynamic Evo XL I can only mount the 240 radiator for the GPU towards the side but to have a positive air pressure I need to have one fan set to intake which is just causing it to suck the hot air of the 240 radiator back into the case causing my PC to get hot more often it’s annoying hopefully I can mount it to the back with this case along side the 360 push/pull setup I have to the top otherwise I’ll sell this GPU for a non liquid cooled version
I have the same card and I mounted it's radiator in the back as the exhaust, I also have push pull for the CPU but 420 radiator so I mounted it in the top as the exhaust... And my two sets of D30 140mm reverse fans are just arriving, going to mount them in the bottom and side as intake and I think should be able to achieve good positive pressure with those 6x140mm D30 fans at avrage speed
Would be perfect if instead brackets, used rails. Not really a fan of 140mm fans being greatly blocked by the bracket because of 120mm compatibility. Guess that would be even cheaper to implement.
LESS concerned with looks and MORE concerned with function, you mean? The HAF 700 and HAF 700 EVO are magnitudes more "showy" compared to the NV9, which has a lot more functionality-focused features.
@pluviamachina3583 No, I meant it the way I stated. Glass intead of mesh on the front, a door to hide the rear IO, worse cable management, blocked off area next to the motherboard with a strip of RGB instead of additional mounting options, etc. The HAF has more flexibility, better airflow, and is easier to work in/on (no tools required for most things). The HAF looking better doesn't hurt it either.
@@94b20gsr I disagree that either case is worse than the other to work in. Sure, the NV9's system is different, but it's not bad, and the same goes for the HAF 700 EVO. However, it's foolish to suggest the NV9 is better looking. The HAF 700 EVO will immediately turn heads whereas the NV9 looks like any other rectangular prism case.
is there any similar case that supprts 3x 420 rads and has the front io on top? my pc will always sit below my deskt because...duh? who wants a huge dumb item on the desk instead of usable space? oO
@@browntrousersforsafety-el2bo Both cases are actually within a quarter inch one way or another of being the same size. Thermaltake simply built it better, in my opinion. No screws to take off the panels, motherboard rotated 90 degrees, and better dust filters, and lots of room for long tubing runs in my dule custom loops.
Excellent review! Nevertheless, this thing is large, impractical, and obnoxious. Now I am trying to decide, Would this be the ideal case for Clarkson or for Hammond?
Buying this case is a two-step process. Step 1 is to buy it. Step 2 is to buy a handcart. Consider renting a car engine lift if you plan to place it on a desk.
The moment I sow NV7 I was amazed and disappointed.. No 420 radiator and no 140mm fans where deal breaking, and I said at the time and even posted comments that phanteks needs to make a slightly bigger case and call it maybe NV9 with 420 support, thank god phanteks had it really in mind. I have NV9 for some time now it's really huge much bigger then my previous EVOLV X but still looks great on my desk and actually makes 48" C2 next it look like average 27" monitor hahaha Case do have some unexpected flaws however... Those ARGB modules around motherboard are real pain in the a$$ and, and few things could be done better quality wise, coming from EVOLV X it's downgrade in some ways, I had EVOLV X for 5 years and not a scratch on it, TG panels look brand new today and the case itself.. On the other hand my NV9 have front glass panel already chipping on the corner and I didn't even remove the protective plastic yet.. Also side metal panel has very weak plastic bits that can broke easily
@@KitGuruTech it does it's job but still I miss quality and almost toolless design of EVOLV X , phanteks did sent me a replacement for one plastic piece that had broken as it was not tight enough from factory on my NV9, as for the front glass I am not sure what to do, kinda looks like it's my fault although I know I have handled that piece with extra care placing it on bed with extra thick pillows but still got damaged somehow..
I don’t really understand this case to be honest. It just looks, odd, it’s absolutely massive and that gap above the motherboard isn’t particularly pleasing aesthetically.
great review Leo. Not sure I’d ever need something this big but it looks like another quality design from phanteks

Phanteks won me over simply by including their screws in a case with separate compartments instead of just pitching them all into one bag.
That’s a great touch. Some companies underestimate the importance of the little touches.
It does look like a workstation style case for high end components. Would actually be hard to fill.
That’s fantastic. Would double as a desk for me 😅

You could fit a double reservoir in here, watercool the GPU and CPU on separate loops
🤣
Plz review the Deepcool CH780 !
Yes I agree !
Is pretty much the Morpheus with front glass and using the dual chamber design.
Yeah was about to say
What on earth would they put the Io at the bottom of the case. Was that something they added later when they realised they missed it ? 😮
That is Huge ! Great review !
Thanks !
Love this case. It’s got great airflow n
is this a PC case or a case for fans?
I have 3x 420mm and a 280mm rad in my nv9. Easy fit. Vertical gpu option with bottom rad would be nice though
If it was cut for back connector motherboards I would be interested.
bit of an odd question, with the pump+reservoir directly in front of the fans, doesn't that block airflow and lower the efficiency of the radiator?
That’s bigger than my house 😂
It's not got any lounge, kitchen, bedrooms or bathroom though, so a big downside.

what is the length and width of the power supply in cm
Idgaf if its to big. Love how clean it looks. I want to fill it with a 420 and 140mm fans everywhere.
Thinking of swapping my build out of a Lian Li Odessey X to this, looks like enough room for my type of builds
Leo N° 1 💪
thinking of buying this case can you run push pull on a 420 x 30 mm rad? It is relpacing my aging enthoo primo.
That’s a heck of a deal for 200 quid
200 more for fans not so cheap
Well you probably could just add fans as money permits. Start off with just a few.

My thoughts as well. I have 5 3.5 HDDs in mind so this case is a no go
Do you know if it matter temperature-wise, if you install bottom fans horizontally vs angled?
With this case you use AlphaCool MONSTA radiators and the fans at max 500 RPM when they turn on!
For exhaust air should I get 120 fans or 140 fans(back side)? Planning to get six 140 fans for intake(down and rear)
