Very powerful speech. Thanks to those courageous women the feminist movement started. It wasn't as "easy", (in comparison) to protest as now in democratic countries, so we have to THANK THEM!
Fabulous series of videos, beautifully presented and informative. Thank you tall participants. The actress who read Emmeline Pankhurst's speeches was stunning - I had tears in my eyes.
You know these sorts of speeches always make me cry, things like “i have a dream” or “we will fight them on the beaches”, its the kind of reaction i have to brilliant poetry, and i realised just now listening to this WHY. Because unadulterated TRUTH is beautiful and awe-inspiring and RARE. This is just absolute truth and it creates this heart ache of longing to hear and feel more of it, its bold and brave and honest, its powerful, it makes people who are vulnerable, in danger, who are considered lesser, powerful. When MLK spoke I have a dream.. he spoke it as though all men ought to be treated equally while he himself was looked down on because of his skin pigment, nonsense, nonetheless he was disempowered by that thinking, but with his words, his eloquence, he transcended the station that other men placed him in, and was an honest to God hero. It just seems to demonstrate an iron entered sense of self-awareness and self-worth that is truly admirable. This is that sort of speech, extremely moving. Thank you EP for fighting for the basic rights that many take for granted today, i don’t always support the method but I do so much value what you begged for, thank you. Perhaps in another world I shall tell you myself one day x
She was a very brave lady who fought against an ignorant government .we still have an ignorant one today who ignored the residents needs And take away from us our real needs.one in which honest people still pay the price for dishonest ones .that includes criminals and their selves.
"Nothing can stop militancy now, and it is going on until we get the vote. We tried by constitutional ways to get you to give us the vote, but you did not do it. What can we do now but carry on this fight ourselves?" --- Emmeline Pankhurst

Use your rights to their fullest.

I always imagine her voice not sounding posh
Sounds familiar. 100 years later, different struggles and causes, same bullshit from governments and pushback from those invested in the status quo
