Here's a piece of advice for everyone on limping, it comes from Doyle himself, "Don't ever go broke in an un-raised pot"

nice to see someone talk a little about the difference between 6 and 9-10 handed games..amazing how little anyone really talks about that, even though it is a humongous difference.

There are two cases to be made for open limping. If you have AA or KK at an active table at the middle point of a tournament or later and are one of the first two to act, limping is a great idea, expecting that someone will raise especially with higher blinds and antes and then you are in position to re-raise or trap.

My school of thought would be to never limp. If I'm getting involved i'm always raising/shoving. I know people like to trap with AA or KK by limping in say a 180 sng late on for value, I've seen this a lot from weaker players but over time i think you'd open yourself up quite a bit to unnecessary variance and kind of ask to get 'sucked out' on once in a while.

do a bunch of limping and you'll get good at reading flop textures and using hand and pot odds. limping tends to bite you in the ass more often than not, though. it has to be used more in online turbo games, though, i think, or the blinds will start to eat you alive and before you know it you'll be in push/fold mode too early. unless it's a sit & go where if you're card dead it dosen't really matter until the push/fold mode, anyway.

He says to limp with a lot of suited hands from SB, so A4s is fine, esp since you can get into nuts vs second nuts situations with it. But A4o becomes so much worse, esp out of position; you have to pay off better aces when you flop A X X. One of the best flops you can see is 2 3 5 rainbow, and even then you're getting owned by 46. Only really good situations are A 4 X flops against big aces or 2 3 5 flops against an aggressive 45 (who even then have 15% to chop and 19% to outdraw)

any ace is powerful in poker...the idea of not completing with any ace is ridiculous. aces make better flushes, better straights, better kickers, better everything. any suited ace in a limped pot from the small blind?? i'm raising at least 1/2 the time...those are situations where you should look for reasons to raise, as a number of poker books have stated...in an unraised pot raise out of the small blind like 1 in 3 times I believe is a common rule of thumb...and clearly a suited ace is in the top 1/3 of all hands.

since jimmy admits he's doing nothing with his life maybe he should find a nutritionist and life mentor to drop a few pounds and get healthy. it appears sleeping 18 hours a day and using the HUD to play poker isnt helping him to become a healthy person.
