Injured my rear shoulder/ lat/ Tricep doing pull ups. Probably from bad mobility and forcing the motion. I think these videos will help because it shows the training of someone who actually has results. I think there is a lot of fear mongering in the fitness TH-cam circle. Making people even myself included at times feeling like I have to do this movement or I need this set volume.
Hey Rob, I appreciate the comment man. There 100% IS a lot of fear mongering. Bro it happens to all of us, even myself but fortunately over the years this has subsided dramatically. I don't consume content that will have things like "The BEST side delt variation" or "squats might be killing your gains" Honestly it ALL works. They are just different tools. Btw, I hope you heal. Don't over think it. I've done pull ups for years and I'm sure some day I'll bust my chit up. Something will give out probably. Speedy recovery my man.

A much needed video. I think a good protocol is to use these influencers programs as a template and then slowly add to them and see how you respond. This is what I’m going to do. I’ll start with Rio’s minimalist 3 days upper lower upper, but add some additional sets from there instead of jumping to something completely different or going to 4 or 5 days a week which I probably won’t be able to stick to. You have to find that balance for yourself. Correct me if I’m wrong
@@Ralph-i5c Hiya Ralphy, That's it man. Take someone's template, refine it if need be by adjusting accordingly or learn how to make your own. From there, put your nose down and grind. Check measurements monthly to see if you are making progress. You are correct mate.
In general, is listening to your body a good sign when knowing how much to do. For example, if I’m struggling to finish the workouts or feel completely exhausted does this mean I need to cut back or just that I have poor work capacity. Like if I try and do 3 hard sets of barbell back squats I am ready to go home if you get what I mean. Is this a good way to assess things
@Ralph-i5c Hey Ralph, Yeah that's right BUT you have to keep in mind, if it's a one or two off "bad" session, then it's just life. Shit happens. If it's like that a week or two and you know you are eating and sleeping enough, then something's up.
In general, as you get stronger and more advanced, do you need to increase or decrease volume. If seen many different opinions on this. Some say you need to do more to keep challenging the muscles. Others say less due to needing more recovery due to the heavier workload. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Hey Frank, So I have NO proof of this, but I believe the STRONGER you get, the LESS volume you need. I'm sure you can do 135lb bench for 10 sets of 10 But as you get stronger and finally bench 315, I'm more than certain you'll do 1 set, then the next sets will have your reps drop off dramitcally leaving you needing MORE rest between sets and MORE rest between days. It's not a dumb question. Ask anything any time.
@@BAmerican Ask anything any time bro. It's the nature of the beast! That's correct. I have a haunch that at some point this will be 4 or 5 sets. Starting to feel beat up mentally.
@EliteProAli going thru the same right now. Been pushing the envelope a little and I am feeling it. Mainly mentally. I don't feel it during the workout. But it's like it creeps up on me.
@BAmerican Yeah mate. That's it. The workout I feel a challange. And by the end of it I'm glad it's over. But shortly after I am foggy headed. Just woke up and it feels like I've been hit by a truck! Signs we need to look for if it's happens more than often my friend.

Ive asked before. But my ocd wont let it go. So you do roughly 3 sets a body part each workout. Totaling about 6 sets a week.
