Watch the aplomb Johnny shows dealing w Cheryl Ralph. Her segment was about as dull and tasteless and self centered as it gets. And Johnny can’t wait to get out of there.
The ridiculous little story she tells about bumping into Carson backstage was so pointless. This helps to remind us that for all the classic moments these talk shows can give us, there are plenty of mediocre segments and egotistical guests. Carson was great at being able to wring funny moments out of these though, or at least try like hell.
Sure..... A comercial with a ballerina dancing inside of an inflated condum would have become a classic...
