Perfect instructions. You saved us over AU$500 on our 2011 i30. Our tip - make sure the top wire going into the white wheel is under the other wire that crosses over it - it is correct in the video but we got it wrong and learnt the hard way and had to redo the whole thing after putting everything back together and there were funny noises. Thank you so much. We ordered the clips from ebay from the UK (they were made in Turkey) and came with the clips, wheel, and wires - make sure you order for the side you need as left and right (passenger and driver) are different. Took about an hour to install - we needed 2 people to keep the tension in the wires while we did the wheel bit.
Hi Julie, thank you for your tip. We initially tried the clips from Turkey too but found they were similar to the original clips and quite weak for the load, which is why we designed our own clips that is solid and made of stronger material. Be sure to order the Powerwin Hyundai i30 Window Regulator Repair kit in the future if the other window gives out. :)
@@powerwinauto absolutely agree with Turkey made plastic parts being weak. Ours gave out quite quickly but we've managed to make do til now with a bit of glue and not opening the window often. Will order your recommended parts next time.
Thank you so much for the video, I’ve been struggling with my sonata. The twist is the major technique that I learned from your video. It’s a hard thing for any beginners.
For those unaware the guys making this video are powerwin, they make the reconditioned stronger clips. Delivered for about $60aud. While you can get cheaper versions from sweatshops around the world that steal intellectual property, try to support a business that is innovating and creating improved products. I've used this kit on the passenger side, and then a month later on the driver side. The twisting the wheel bit a bit tricky but you'll get there. I found it easier when the clips are at the height of the access holes - at this height there is 1.5 twists on the wheel on both cables which I think made it easier to twist.
Thanks so much! i was able to replace my broken regulator clips following these steps. took about an 45 mins to an hour to pull the panels window replace the parts and put it back together.saved me a lot of money on my 2011 elantra touring.
Used this kit the second time my driver window broke. It works perfectly, I wish I knew about it the first time as it would have saved me a lot of money. My passenger window has just broken now too so I will be using one of these kits again.
Thank you for this mate. Just did it myself. However one point that got me was the twisting of the hub spindle. Make sure the wires are not crossed over and each one is separate and sitting inside the grooves nicely. I had to redo that twice to get it right as it made a crunching sound.
Thank you so much for this video. I've reassembled mine with your help but I have a lot of resistance when sliding the window holders up and down compared to your movement at 2:30. I think the tension is way too high but it's the original cables being used. There's no friction when the sliders are off the cables. Do you have an idea of why that would be?
Thanks, I am another very happy customer, the clips you provide are designed the way they are supposed to be! Excellent work on the tutorial and the product. Thanks :)
will this work on a 07 Hyundai with Power windows from the factory??? My motor went out on that window & rather convert it to manual anyway. 07 Hyundai Accent ......will this kit fix it?
Nice video... Do you know if this is the same set up for a 2016 Tucson? My driver's side window will not open. I have tested the switch, and wiring to the motor and it's fine. The motor housing gets warm when the switch is applied but nothing moves, which leads me to suspect the regulator bits.. like the plastic cog . I haven't popped motor off because i wasn't sure of the arrangement behind the regulator panel.. But looking at your video, if it's the same setup, i should be able to take the motor off, without removing the panel as yet.
Does that kit come with the cog as you call it? All I saw on your website were pics of the redesigned slides with attached wire/cable. I need a kit if you have one for a 2013 hyundai elantra gt I assume it is the same as the i30 designation. I am in the USA. Thanks.
Sorry for the delayed reply; if you're still after a kit, you can purchase it directly from us via our online store at: powerwin.com.au. Type i30 into our site's search bar to pull up the product. Cheers!
Hey Mate thanks for the film. I followed all the steps and re-assembled but cables have a lot of tension and slides are hard to move. Cable is seated in coil and rollers. Any ideas. Thanks
Hi there, apologies for the delay in getting back to you as we do not monitor our youtube account. Please contact us on 07 3267 8998 with your invoice number and we'll help troubleshoot the issue. Alternatively, send us your phone number via our website contact form and we'll give you a call back.
I found this out too. Once the motor is back in place you cannot make the window guides move by hand anymore, as the motor itself is holding the spindle in place. That is ok. Just connect the outside panel's electrical back and test the window guides move and without any crunching sounds. Set them about 2 inches below from the top and then fit it all back together. I was lucky my window sat up fully without it falling.

5 years later still invaluable. Thanks for saving me $100s and hours of frustration.
I’m so glad I found this. Accidentally unspooled mine on my Elantra and had no idea how to fix it.
