@@jameslanier2510 mmhmm and how many dads has Abby unknowingly killed in pursuit of her endeavors? Most likely a lot considering they’re in the middle of an apocalypse where killing people is a norm. She’s not wrong for wanting vengeance but at some point she should’ve considered that the man who killed her father wasn’t the monster she thought he was. When Joel killed him, it wasn’t personal, again, he was the one thing that stood in between Joel and his surrogate daughter and from a storytelling perspective I can’t overlook that because I spent an entire game learning to love and understand Joel for all his flaws. BiSCuiT with all do respect, how the fuck does money have anything to do with it. Surely if they give Joel “the stupidest death” then they will lose money. They surely gained a lot of hate from that decision. So I don’t think money had much of an impact. Now if they would’ve made some stupid ass fairy tale where all the characters lived happily ever after then they probably would’ve made a lot more money.
@@JohnDoe-qd7gh I think money cause the first game had a perfect ending the second game only has a story based off killing Joel, and why make a second game? Cause the first was super successful and companies like money!
Tyler Carrol that explains the sequel but that doesn’t explain Joel’s death. They could’ve made a the last of us 1 2.0 (like most people wanted) and made a lot more money. Thankfully they did their own thing
I absolutely love that Ellie tried Joel’s technique for torture and information gathering and it back fires on her because she is no where near as ruthless as Joel Was at this point in the apocalypse. Like 25 years of living in the apocalypse has truly ruined Joel’s humanity and Ellie is not at his level yet.
People tend to ignore that the fireflies does nothing to calm Joel, they arrive almost dead, and they literally doesn't give Joel time to say goodbye, they don't show the payment they don't say anything, they don't explain things to Ellie, from the point of view of Joel they treated him and Ellie as objects, literally, couldn't they have waited 1 day to perform a surgery that was so important, also their cause was just one plan, their goal was to create a better world but they dissolved when the cure wasn't ready, really they couldn't train another scientist in the many years the movement was operating, like how hard is it to teach people about a medical degree. And how hard is to train the people Joel killed in that fight, imagine crossing the USA bonding with this girl that at the end is literally his daughter, and the moment you arrive there they treat him like a prisoner and want to kill his girl without any alternative, just like the soldier at the beginning of the game that kills Sara because he had orders.
Right? Joel killed the fireflies to save Ellie’s life, just like how the fireflies were going to kill Ellie and Joel to save other peoples lives. We gloss over the fact that technically Ellie didn’t consent to the procedure, we also gloss over the fact that the procedure isn’t guaranteed. They could have killed Ellie for no reason.

@@Nokipan It was nobody's fault. It's not like Abby lied about her own name, either. Hiding your identity doesn't make any sense in TLOU as a survival strategy. Nobody gives a fuck what your name is. Why would Joel hide it? He doesn't know they're specifically looking for someone named Joel. That's never happened before.
@@Ouromia My problem isn't that Abby killed Joel, it was the way it was done. Joel was killed an hour into the story, after forgetting that you shouldn't walk into a dark basement with no easily accessible exits with a large group of armed strangers. He was then killed in a very unfulfilling way, by Abby who thinks "killing bad" as she tortures Joel to death with a golf club. He's then talked down by characters and casted as the bad guy. Man that killed her dad and destroyed all hopes for a vaccine you mean.
The simple fact is Abby tortured and murdered a man that saved her life and offered her hospitality, never reflects on it and the game wants me to empathize with her? i think she was at the end of the second game
@@catalina3163 I dunno, I don’t think Joel would have spared Abby if she killed Ellie

Joel got what he deserved in part 2. Killing unarmed people and dooming humanity without even asking Ellie.
@@Ouromia My problem isn't that Abby killed Joel, it was the way it was done. Joel was killed an hour into the story, after forgetting that you shouldn't walk into a dark basement with no easily accessible exits with a large group of armed strangers.
