I love Pothos, you just can't go wrong. These bad boys love to grow, they look great, they work in any location and they will never let you down. I had 3 on a floating shelf in dark grey 3d-printed pots and they looked amazing. I have a lot a love for these plants. I also have an Asparagus Fern; they grow incredibly fast and look great. They drop their needles so work well in my bathroom
My choice for a "tree" is my Norfolk Pine. I have lots of climbing plants, but my favorite is my Thai Constellation. I adore Pothos, especially my Manjula, Marble Queen and Global Green. I also love my Cebu Blue 💙. I have lots of ferns in my home. My favorites are my four year old Kangaroo Paw fern, Tiger fern and my Staghorns. I enjoy snake plants so much that I have six different varieties. Thank you Nick for this video, I enjoyed watching it and I am glad that I have a representative of everything plant mentioned.
At the start of my jungle I grew lemon trees, avocado trees, Monstera Deliciosas and Bird of Paradise. After six months realized they were all too big for long term maintenance. Then came the Alocasias. Everything else is a blur.
For me a maiden hair fern is quite easy to keep alive in my environment it was pushing out new growth non stop until I noticed it had scale and the only way I was able to treat it was to chop all the leaves off and after that I kinda neglected it but I'd love to get another one I loved that fern so much it was so beautiful
I love rhipsalis! Just started getting into them and am trying to expand my collection but find they are harder to come across here in Canada. They are so interesting to look at. Hoping this spring plant nurseries will branch out and get more varieties in stock
You shouldn't have asked:I d always recommend a marble queen... Every office in Austria seems to have a crippled golden pothos... And some people (me 😜) hate yellow variegation, but love white 🍀

yes, it is an easy breezy fern ! Don't try the super beautiful maidenhair fern, she is stunning but she won't forgive you the smallest error or one week holiday !
Hi! First of all, I have to say that you have single handily saved most of my house plants, and I can’t thank you enough for sharing all your house plant knowledge :) I did have a *hopefully quick* question for you- My cats simply just cannot be trusted to be left alone around any plants- like I have actually seen them attempt to eat a CACTUS- so I have always just played it safe and kept only “non-toxic” house plants that I know are safe for them to eat, but I have always dreamed of finding a way to incorporate a trailing philodendron into my collection, It has just been a challenge to find a way to keep them indoors away from my cats. Do you think it would be possible to keep a climbing plant like a philodendron in some sort of wall-mounted terrarium or even, dare I say, grow it outdoors, like right outside a window? We live in a basement unit with not-so-great indoor lighting, so I often need to supplement with grow lights, but the lighting right outside our windows in the alleyway has been perfect for some of my more tropical (and very toxic) plants that also love the humidity. I plan to set up a little greenhouse area in our guest bath once the temperatures are no longer suitable (though it will be sad to have to lock them away out of sight 😭). Anyway, sorry for rambling, but any suggestions or tips you may have would be greatly appreciated :) Either way, thanks again for all you do!!
"Focal point" is what I think you were searching for for the dracena placement. I really want one one of those and keeping my eyes out for one... Thanks for the great tips!
For a climber, I'm going with a Spathiphyllum Llano Carti Road to have that deep unassuming green on top and the gorgeous red underleaf. I'll pair that with my Sanseiveria Whitney which is super dark, too. Anyway, that's where I start -- we'll see where I end up with my jungle! LOL Thanks for the ideas, Nick :)

I think the plants in my collection that fit the categories would be: 1) Focal Piece/Tree: I have a tall Dieffenbachia 'Reflector' or Ficus elastica 'Tineke' that is 'getting there' in size 2) Climbing Aroid: OMG I've got SO many good ones! I think my favorites are either my Monstera karstenianum ('Peru'), or my Raphidophora haii 'Shingle Plant', but I also have philo. 'Florida', Raph. tetrasperma, Philo. 'Silver Sword', Raph. decursiva, etc. etc. LOTS to choose from... 3) Trialing plant: Again I have a lot to choose from, but I think my favorites are; Spider Plants (I have 3 types, all green, inner variegated, & outer variegated), Ruby Cascade Peperomia, and Wax Ivy (Senecio macroglossus variegata) - and just about any Hoya as well (which can either climb or trail) 4) Ferns: I disagree here, I think Bostons are really easy to take care of - I even had it out on my south facing porch (shaded) in Las Vegas and it grew like crazy! Mine is now over 10 years old and living in AZ now. But I think my favorite 'easy care' & FAST growing fern has been my 'Rabbit's Foot' Fern. I've had terrible luck keeping blue star ferns alive. 5) Structural Plant: Hands down my favorite is my Cow Horn Euphorbia (Euphorbia grandicornis) - it grows VERY fast for a succulent and really cool structurally. I do have several Sansevierias and I also like ZZ Plants for structure - they can get quite large/tall. Another incredibly fast growing succulent is the Dragon Fruit Cactus - in one season mine went from 10-12" cuttings to monsters over 8 feet long! They haven't bloomed yet, but I'm hoping they will this season!
what about a pachira? I have two that I grew from small plants and now they are over 5 feet tall . they are very easy to care for and they grow very quickly.
What plants can handle temp swings? I have a bathroom I want to put a plant in but its chilly or hot depending on the time of the year. Doesn't drop too low or our pipes would freeze but I worry that a plant may not like the inconsistent temps. See lots of videos on lighting or watering but not too much out there on whether a plant like consistency or not. From my understanding Calathea is out because it doesn't like cold drafts???
I love Schefflera plants, my mom has had hers for about 32 years (she got it as a wedding shower gift). Ever since you showed the Schefflera Actinophylla Nova I have wanted to get one but I cant find them anywhere!
From what I've unerstood, most of the vining plants ( Philodendron, syngonium, epipremnium etc.) can both trail and climb. The difference is that when they get a chance to climb, they produce bigger more mature kind of leafs. So it is a matter of taste in the end.
The dracena reflexa was one of my first plants many years ago and I’ve been looking for it again. Where did you get yours? Any info would be appreciated.
Question ❓ I have a ZZ plant and it has been doing awesome....I just refreshed the potting mix....I didn't up size the pot I used the same size just deeper...the leaves are now turning yellow but the stems are healthy...any suggestions

Micans is my jungleiest. I love my Exotica and Ceblue blue, but Micans grows fastest and trails longest for me.

My love for Schlumbergera means I would love Rhipsalis-if they were ever sold near me!
