This week, we will be covering Rahadin, the lieutenant and chamberlain of the vampire Strahd Von Zarovich in the D&D 5th Edition module, the Curse of Strahd.

One of my pcs was a half elf who didn’t know who her father was. Made it him, Strahd grabbed her to make rahadin prove his loyality again. Toward the end rahadin was trying to escort them out of Barovia by means of the gypsies only for it to fall short. The PCs hated Strahd all the more as he laughed and told them they only made it as far as he willed them to. He then made rahadin enthralled and forced the PCs to kill him
As someone who is deeply fascinated by the dusk elves, and makes a LOT of homebrew stuff for Dusk Fae and their relationship with barovia and its past, I ADORED this video!! The subject of the Dusk Elf Prince has caused me to make a PC reincarnation, a lost legendary regalia, the country itself, and other bits just becuase I love the story so so much!! Can't belive he is only in 5th edition but so glad we did get him

Man i’ve been pondering on how to run Rahadin in my game. This is immense help!!! Really good work as usual! Your take on Rahadin is so badass and makes him so much more of a threat. Amazing.
I was also massively lost on Rahadin when I started my CoS game so I’m glad this helped you out :) I didn’t want him to just be the conniving toady of Strahd
He got a raw deal in my first campaign. I had him usher the party in for dinner, and then disappear.
Much later when the party lit the Arganvost beacon, Strahd saw it, and rushed to the castle with Rahadin to see for himself. They came at the party from two directions on second story, with Rahadin sniping from dark as Strahd monologued. Party had recently gotten the Holy Symbol and hit the sunlight, which meant Strahd had to back up. I had Rahadin actively try to kill a downed sidekick and priest, and Chorus would have done soon his next turn, but party saw what was happening and dogpiled him.
yeah rahadin was the red herring in last CoS game and they almost merked him xD they came to their senses and Vampyr was fucked out of removing the last obstacle in his way
Rahadin was perhaps the best character of CoS. I was sad when the party killed him outside of the Amber Temple, making that their fourth encounter with him. He took with him a PC though

In my game the plot twist behind rahadin is that he’s actually a mummy lord. An ancient evil that serves Strahd not only because he’s more powerful but because he’s so fun. He bends the knee for the sake of his insane entertainment.
Also I made it so that Rahadin was the one that killed patrina, blamed the disk elves, used modify memory on kasimir to make him think he had her killed, and then proceeded to enjoy every second of murdering all the dusk elf women and children. He’s a bastard, just like Strahd, well as the fact that he can be killed and be forced to come back multiple times until the crew destroy his remains in the amber temple.
That sounds quite metal and I love it xP
I’m curious why choose mummy lord?
@@itslegendlore I figured “what’s undead and powerful, but isn’t a lich?” I mean we already got all the other classic Halloween monsters so I figured we’d go all out.
I also made it so that the dusk elves had a kingdom in the land long before Strahd. They were ruled but a stern but just ruler named queen peppermint. She was assassinated and one thing led to another and the kingdom fell apart, leaving the dusk elves and humans in the valley when Strahd took over.
With the help of a bag of beans given the the party the unintentionally raise a pyramid where they discover queen peppermint, who awakes and discovers she’s been turned into a mummy lord. If the party is tactful they can get her as an ally and can eventually discover that rahadin was her majordomo before he killed her in her sleep and then had himself mummified in the amber temple where Strahd found him after making his deal with vampyr.
Essentially he’s an asshole who’s coocoo for coco puffs. I still have the screaming of his victims gimmick and in battle he can conjure up mummy versions of his poor female elf victims, just for the extra horror factor.
In my Strahd games, currently running 2 and always looking for new recruits, my players are way stronger than normal so fighting a mummy lord or a full fledged vampire minion of Strahd here and there is more of a tough boss fight than an end of campaign bbeg.
I got a million other crazy ideas as well. Like after redeeming the paladins argynvost reincarnates into a beefed up wyrmling, all the hags but morgantha are each different types and can be redeemed, Stella wachter is a Medusa cursed to transform at the wrong time and that’s why she’s crazy, etc.
I got a million other whacky ideas if you’re interested lol sorry for the long reply

Statblock wise. I make him a beefed up version of a shadow dancer. From MWMM. Shader kai. But I'll defo give him the 2 scimitars along with a chain whip
