I use “He is Ancient, He is the Land” as Strahd’s battle theme. My players know the opening to the song by heart and as soon as they hear the first couple of seconds, it’s all “FUUUUUCK” and heads in hands around the table. Absolute masterpiece.

I'm using this idea next time I run CoS, I can't wait to see their reactions when I have this start playing as they wander through barovia and Strahd reveals himself for some more fun.

Villainous Leit Motifs are my jam! I've got some players terrified of a villain even if it's only her underlings or tangential problems made by ehoes of her magic! Does me a pride every time XD
The fact that "Glimmer of Hope" ends and "He Is The Ancient, He is The Land" takes its place really fits the tone well

As somebody about to start DM'ing Strahd I cannot wait to have my players find the Sun Sword just to have Strahd show up, or for them to light the beacon just to watch Strahd attempt to tear the building down.
pair this up with the bloodborne ost for boss battles and we got magic here

I'd also recommend checking out the Vampyr soundtrack
Wouldn't it be amazing to run Curse of Strahd using the 'milestone' levelling up method, using encounters that match these songs as milestones?
...Then when players level up, you play THIS MUSIC. Epic levels would be off the scale!!

We just did Curse of Strahd over the holiday weekend. Our DM was playing this music throughout the campaign. Coupled with the dim lights, the burning candles, the incense, and the decor, it was quite the immersive experience. Traipsing through Barovia just wouldn't be the same without the atmosphere. I'm going to be using the soundtrack when I DM this campaign for my other regular group.

This genuinely removes my anxiety to DM and fills me with a sense of excitement and desire to give the best game I can. There's just so much atmosphere that I have to resist making my sandox even more grim fairy-tale than it already is

I've been looking for suitably gothic, adventuring, and heroic music that fits the very best of Curse of Strahd's themes and inspirations, without just being the soundtrack to Castlevania or Bram Stoker's Dracula, and this somehow captures it all perfectly. Every piece fits the moments, the characters, the feeling of traveling through Barovia and standing against The Devil Himself.
I'm a forever GM finally getting to play, in CoS no less, and I am absolutely going to be hyping this soundtrack up for the game. You've *nailed* musically what this adventure feels like, absolutely well done, mate.

I am running Strahd and I made my own playlist, but soon became unimpressed with what I put together after the second session. This album is amazing and has given me inspiration as well as motivation! It captures exactly what I was hoping to find for music to run Strahd with. Thank you!!!!

This gentleman is a composing genius! I would love for him to make a soundtrack for Out of the Abyss at some point as well to see how his mastery over dark themes of Curse of Strahd translate to more alien and potentially even darker (literally and figuratively) themes of the Underdark and Abyss!

Wow! This is some really amazing stuff. I especially love "All Against Darkness," it captures Ezmerelda's vistani cultural sound while also conveying her no-nonsense and badass character.
This is just marvelous, the final track He Is The Ancient, He Is The Land gave me chills and is so perfect for my favorite DnD villian Strahd! Into the Mist is the perfect Ravenloft movie opening theme and catches the mystery and dread of the mists and Ravenloft perfectly. This whole soundtrack is just so perfect!

Agreed. I do homebrew D&D games, but much of it is Dark Fantasy and Gothic Horror - so this music is PERFECTION

Though I play DnD, that is not how I use this. I cannot help but write when I hear this, the incredible atmosphere, those rythmic cello strokes, the sheer mystery. My character, with all this Celtic and Norse magick, his mansion in the shrouded woods, truly could not ask for a better piece to conduct his story. Mostly I use it for his early-mid years as a character, but this can also be used after he becomes more of a threat on the secret eldritch wizard side of things. Verily, only one other song can I use, and then only in distinct circumstance. This, this makes me think of him. Please, for the sake of the DnD players, the writers, and the dreamers, keep making music.

This is the perfect Ravenloft background sound track. My players love it. It also adds to the ambiance and gives an appropriate sound vibe for the campaign. Thank you very much for putting this together - I used it every time I DM Ravenloft.

I can't stress enough how much I appreciate this. This sound track is used by my dm and it just has made the experience better for us overall and we are still having a blast. I'm here because "Into the mists" was used in a Skyrim mod list, but wow, I didn't expect to like the rest as much as I did
27:33 in my game during the coffin maker's shop, we heard creaking from the other room while all of us were silent, This music perfectly represents the feeling when I used my sense undead feature and saw 6 freaking vampires and then we booked our way outa there o.o

Ravenloft is an underrated setting.
The intro to creeping hut is amazing because it tells the players all that needs to be told: pray your DM is a merciful one, 'cause it will be tough. No one messes around with baba yaga.
After 42 weeks our first CoS run came to an end, this is a great soundtrack and I think it fits the campaign incredibly well. Awesome job man

I have been running Curse of Strahd for my players since October last year. I have been searching for some good background music for this campaign, even before then. I wish I had found your channel then. This music is incredible! Thankfully I have found it right as my players are in the middle of Saint Andrals Feast (which is also their first encounter with Strahd)

Using these themes as leitmotifs for various characters and places has worked perfectly in my campaign so far.
One of my players has already linked the Dream Pastries music to Morgantha and is now absolutely horrified every time she hears it
