To be fair, she didn't "crash" the ship - the helm controls were offline and she managed to safely guide the saucer down in a TEXTBOOK landing saving every single man woman and child aboard. She should have been promoted for it.
Always love the comments about the dynamic among the cast. When they started out, Patrick was this stoic Shakespearean actor chastising the others for not taking their job more seriously and over time this bunch of crazy heathens mellowed him out and they've become a family that still meets up whenever they hve an opportunity to be near each other.
Thanks so much for uploading this featurette! It was also shown on British TV (ITV) at the time of First Contact's theatrical release - which was how I saw it but wasn't able to make a recording. The joys of TH-cam. 🙂
First Contact is my most favourite Trek Film. I envy those yet to see it. I would LOVE to go back and watch it for the first time again. I didn't want it to end.
I have this red, Captain Picard t-shirt that I ordered a while ago. Whenever I wear it to go somewhere, I do that Captain Picard thing with my arm, and say, "engage!" When I try to do it without the t-shirt on, he'll say, "nope, you can't do it without the shirt!"
Troi safely landed the saucer in Generations, rammed the whole ship upon order into the Scimitar in Nemesis, and manoeuvred the ship again in Picard Season 3 to save her husband and the rest of the crew. I think the counsellor is fit for helm.
23:58/28:25 This sequence was an earlier scene by ILM in post-production other than the final theatrical release. Note here the trajectory of Akira class beneath the Enterprise-E and the finished film.
I love the phrasing of the 8th movie following the adventures of the Starship Enterprise... It's pretty cleve rto frame it like that... Even if it was briefly traded for a B'rel class in one movie
This crew along with DS9's probably had a bond like a band of brothers. They experienced this great adventure trough together as a family, and they - as far as I know - became friends for a life. I envy them for this feeling. As for Voyager, well, there were problems, as I know, but some of them did became real friends. TOS? Same, most of them - except The Shat. Idk the others, but tbh, Enterprise and all the others after that... for me they were just another TV show. Just a proper work, but nothing more. Maybe I am wrong, but Star Trek shows gave me these impressions.
I remember seeing this First Look on HBO back in the day. I wish this had been the last Next Gen movie so they could have gone out on a high note. But I guess the world wasn’t ready for a Deep Space Nine movie.
Although Nemesis didn't do well financially (it was up against a Harry Potter, a Bond, and a Lord of the Rings), it was a much better film than Star Trek 5, and I'm so glad we got The Undiscovered Country. The studio picked the wrong director and released it at the wrong time. That and the studio itself struggling financially is basically what killed the TNG films, and removed possibilities of DS9 / Voyager ones.
Decades ago now i rushed out to watch this movie but when i sat down in the cinema i realised that i needed to go to the toilet after eatting too much curry. I shit my pants instead of going to the bathroom rather than miss a single second. My girlfriend at the time dumped me because i shit myself and stank out the cinema.

One of the best Startrek movies of all time! Along with The Wrath Of Khan and Undiscovered Country.
Nah. Nemesis is the best.

Nostalgia is powerful with this.
i love that it's peter cullen (Optimus Prime) doing the narration (or at least it sounds like him)

When Star Trek wasn't fast and the furious in spaaaaaace, or grimdark even at maximum screen brightness.
Probably only five minutes of behind the scenes footage but it's still a fun 28 minutes.

My fave Trek movie...probably Insurrection because it stars Donna Murphy as Anij. Yum!
Always puts me off the way movie trailers and preview shorts like this just substitute in SFX and dialogue that never happens
I prefer that Patrick Steward to the old tattered granpa in Picard..
that was one of the best
This makes some interesting links with Star Trek : Picard.

As I understand it there was some tension on the DS9 cast. Brooks had a bit of a temper, among other things...
I’m surprised no one’s done a thing we’re the Kardashian’s instead of the Cardassians appear now that’ll be a good one lol

that BORG voice is creepy
0:17 - 0:27 the Predator theme?
Definitely
As I get older, I feel like the 90s makes less and less sense, and I find myself trying to put it behind me..
I didn’t realize the Autobots would be fighting the borg 😅😂
I need to know what song was actually being played on the jukebox. The one in the movie was not used on set, and neither was this one...

Good movie (and so much better than Picard S3). But, the Borg Queen was a mistake, IMO. The Borg were much more mysterious and scary without her.
I agree to an extent but First Contact worked a lot better with her in it. That said I think Voyager kinda killed the Borg.
Voice over guy sounds like Admiral Leyton from DS9/General Hague from Babylon 5/Ratchett from Transformers
Movie Picard is obviously not the same as TV Show Picard.
Does the narrator not realize it’s the Next Generation crew not Generations?
The Borg - Swedes in space. 😁
Well, after the E came F and then the G.
I was doing things I've never done before, it was great. Kisses borg queen. Win
dont you hate it too when you are driving your starship and a planet appears not even signaling??
Worst day ever.
God loves you beautiful angel
I actually introduced him to a real Borg back in 78 ,it was on a research mission and had crashed near Christ lane Doncaster .
And then the Dominion reared it's ugly head!
Generations - travels back in time
First Contact - travels back in time
Insurrection - planet provides extra time
Nemesis - B4 time
Wait... So the Borg are not real?!
wait.... whats a cun-up?
Movie interviews with female actresses who font talk about being a women in an action movie and how groundbreaking it is?? Yup. It's from a lost time.
A good film but the casting of Cochrane was a disaster.
The original Cochrane had dignity, this one was just a drunken slob
Good point. TOS season 2, episode 9 "metamorphosis" introduces the character.
