I sent away to England for posters of him, my teenage bedroom walls were wallpapered with his face. I had a photographer friend that gave me an original photo of him in concert, I still have it nearly 40 years later! I bought every album he ever made, and Kite is my all time favorite song. I listen to it on repeat endlessly. He was the great, unrequited love of my life and every boy I dated resembled him in some way. So many of his songs are my "favorite". From Monday to Sunday. I Love You Avenue. I was working in a big record store when The Apple Bed was released, oh my god, I was so happy to sell his albums! When I watch his videos now, that 13 year old girl is still in love and my heart nearly breaks when he smiles

Such a great song!!! Nick is pure legend, started out with Haircut in the Eighties and then got this in the charts early Nineties. I love the Haircut stuff but I think he was way better solo. His early Nineties albums were amazing, and he's still going (and looking awesome) This should have way more views, he's straight up underrated in my eyes.

Such a poignant, gentle song from a beautiful soul. And the way it speaks to me, it's also kind of sad... the metaphoric shooting of your kite, and pleading with our parents to not let it be shot down. It's touching and tragic all at once.
