wanted to comment on the repaired quarter panel, but comment were disabled... Pretty impressive work! Didn't know I could wet sand filler or putty. Thank you!
This video helps tremendously...any suggestions on videos on how to physically swap out the dash compartment with the inverter? I have both cars (a vibe and a matrix) and I want to sell the vibe but first move the inverter over.
Worked really well but one thing, the bolts for the inveter mount under the seat were too small to thread into the stock holes underneath the seats. Very odd because i happen to accidentally take two sets of bolt home from the pull yard and neither were wide enough to thread for my 04 matrix. I wonder why
Base Matrix doesn't always have the threads for the inverter bracket under the seat on the frame rails. I used some lexus/toyota spec plastic trim push rivet that was about 9mm in diameter. Worked like a charm
Would’ve help if this video showed how from start to finish. I got the switch/plug (and the inverter minus the relay) but didn’t know where to pull the harness from the inside of the dash which I end up cutting it. It’s probably useless now.
I have a 12v electric motor to power my paddle board, it used to work great when I plugged into my car outlet. Now it loses power after a few seconds of inflating board and then and shuts itself off. I tested the relay and it works fine with my lights and phone charger, but is no longer strong enough to power my electric pump. I tested my A/C relay which is under glove compartment as well and it works fine too. What could it be that when I connect my electric pump it loses power? I tried to turn off A/C, shut the lights off to see if that can offset power, but that doesn't work either. Any advice?
Well the vibe and the matrix are not exactly the same, they are different in quite a few ways. Try and swap body panels. It’s amazing to me the differences in their sound systems. The vibe had the amplifier upgrade for the sound system, and the matrix did not. But the matrix was optional with a JBL stereo upgrade, but no amplifier at all! The matrix doesn’t have any of the wiring, none at all. The wiring diagram show the tweeters connecting directly with the door speakers?! Plus the vibe had power mirrors and the tweeters, but roll up windows! Huh! I have upgrade my matrix base to an S, and so everything has been plug and play, but not so with the sound system. The best upgrades to make are the driving lights, cruise control, and the rear view mirror with map lights. All factory options, and easy to install. Good luck with any mods to your matrix.
I was watching your other video where you've turned off the comments and I understand why. I did read the description of the video. And I think actually I would bet my last dollar that you paid him to do that job. You broke that guy's chops so bad.. I would never want to do a job for you sir.
I got all the components from a scrap vibe but the light that comes on the when the push button is depressed stopped working after a day of installing it in my car. Small annoyance but atleast the outlet still works
100 watts at 115 volt is only .83 amps. That doesn't power much. Have you thought about how to upgrade to maybe 500 watts or so? I have a vibe and like the outlet but most things don't like the tiny amperage. Thanks
Anyone else have problems NOT finding the relay block in their Matrix? I took out the glove compartment, and with a flashlight stuck my head up there and could not find the relay block? My Matrix is wired for this inverter except I can't find the relay block.
Nevermind....I was looking for it and it was right in front of me. Looking too hard maybe? Anyways, after seeing your hand position when pulling the relay out, I noticed you pulled it up. I was always looking at the BOTTOM of the relay block thinking it was for the airbag. Anywho, took the two visible screws on front of block and one 10mm screw on the top back you have to feel for off, pushed up the back part to release alignment pin from metal bar, and there was the empty slot for the inverter relay. Thank you!!!!
I have a 2010 toyota matrix that doesn't have the outlet installed in the car, but has a place for it like the 2010 vibes do. Would I be able to install one?
Every question you have asked so far is answered and explained in my video. Just get all the components from a scrap yard and then watch the video again and follow the instructions.
Did you ever find this out? My matrix has 2 plugs they go into the back of the storage box, but they don't plug into anything, and I'm trying to find out if this is what they're for
I've never seen one on a Matrix but admittedly haven't seen that many Matrixes owning a Pontiac Vibe myself. I also have noticed that more Vibes have moonroofs than Toyota.
+niacal4nia I already had a cigarette lighter plug inverter, you can even see it in the glove box in my video. Besides, the cigarette lighter plug inverter was more expensive than the all the parts I got from the scrap yard, but even if it wasn't I would still get the built-in type. .... you are totally missing the point!

I have it on my 2003 vibe. works great except it only powers if engine is running.

What bolt sized hold that inverter bracket?

It's a bulb, pull the switch out and replace the bulb....

The inverter is most likely bad, or you have a shorted wire that will need to be found@@eogilo
Are the wire plugs behind the compartment of the vehicle your putting it in?
Did you ever find this out? My matrix has 2 plugs they go into the back of the storage box, but they don't plug into anything, and I'm trying to find out if this is what they're for
@@emilywolf1961 that is what they are for, but i think you probably know that by now
Hey I installed one but the fuse keeps blowing. Any ideas what to check?
did u figure it out in the end? i want to try this today
Disable comments in other videos ... hum wonder why?????? Funny stuff this channel is funny as shit!!! Keep the content roll Mr. Knauber
Yes, it's just as I showed in the video - you also need the inverter and the relay.
Martin Knauber
Weird. Been on every matrix I've owned. Well...never owned a base model. Just XR's and XRS.
Will it power up a laptop?
My xr didnt have it so i had to find the parts for it
Hex yes it will.
I think it was excluded from the Canadian market Matrix
@@AmeriFanPickerhow can you power a laptop when it's only a two prong plug? Genuinely need help plugging my laptop in
Every matrix I've seen had the inverter.

@@geneevans2600 I have an 04 pontiac vibe and it has the same inverter as my friends 03 matrix
Wouldn't be easier and cheaperto buy a cigarette lighter plug inverter from ebay or an electronic store? I've seen them with different wattage.

I put the same inverter in my Nissan Frontier.
I have the same one in my 2006 Matrix...standard.
Same in my 2006 and 2008.
My question is do u think that if i plug my tv that will work
same, standard in my 2005 matrix xr!
