    I'm excited about this blender release. Blender changed my life as it enabled me to quickly and easily create visual effects for my science fiction films, even though I'm a one man crew, and now I can start dreaming of hollywood-type effects. With Eevee, I see this is going to be even easier! Many thanks to Blender :-)

    Great video and simple overviews, very helpful for a lot of people! Slight correction at 7:07, this is the interactive python console, used to test python code or directly manipulate blender without putting it in a script (or, via import text as module, to test portions of your script bit by bit). This window does *not* display general errors/logging e.g. from a script, that would come from Info > Window > Toggle Console (or, if on Linux or Mac, open blender from a bash terminal at startup).

    You can press CTRL+TAB(release), 2 or CTRL+TAB(hold) drag mouse over selection, release keys - to go to Sculpt or different modes. You might be able to set a hotkey in settings. Should make a video (or 10) on settings. I have no idea what many do.

    One thing I didn't like about this video is when he said that the graph editor is not important... Ask any professional animator about it and you'll get the answer that it's the heart of animation, you don't just need to move keys in time, you need to scale valor, copy paste tracks or keys, you need to see your curves to understand what you are doing thus it shows where animation went wrong so that you can fix it easily, it saves a lot of time and effort, it gives you the ability to manipulate keys and their tangents to achieve complex results you can never do in dope sheet editor.
    On my part I never use Dope sheet unless for moving many controllers or objects keys, even so the time line can do that in Blender 2.8 which means I most likely wouldn't use it. And my workspace is as follows: viewport/cam/graph/timeline.

    • @MAGAMAN
      @MAGAMAN 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      "One thing I didn't like about this video is when he said that the graph editor is not important."
      It's literally the most important animation tool for an animator to use. My guess is that they just didn't spend much time on it and it sucks in this program. 90% of the keyframe editing I did was in the graph editor because it allows (in a good 3d program) you to see any problems with your curve, move and edit the handles on multiple curves and move and edit keyframes all from one view. I'm guessing they thing using an Ease in-easy out system like after effects uses makes the keyframe editor obsolete. That's not even close to being true and you would have to be an idiot to think so. Ease in-easy out in after effects is only marginally useful and is prone to break on a lot of types of animation. Nothing will ever replace your ability to see exactly what the curves are doing when animating. If you ever have a problem with an animation, the curve editor should be the First place you look.

    • @lefrog9596
      @lefrog9596 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@MAGAMAN blender's Graph editor is good enough to make decent animations it's better than 3dsmax's and in many ways better than Maya's so I don't see your point.
      My comment wasn't about Blender but about the video maker who made a mistake by disregarding the importance of the graph editor.
