    Is this method waterproof? The top coat will protect the unt peel off base correct?

    I'm totally going to try this method! I hate the irritation and tediousness of soaking off with acetone, but peel off base on my bare nails topped with dip or gel releases the peelies too quickly... this sounds like a great alternative option. Thank you!

    There is a video on here where they put cuticle oil all over nail....peeled off with orange stick. Also try lemon essential oil. It helps eat away. So much easier for removal. Also good for your nail.

    I change my nails often to keep my nails healthy I put two layers of clear dip then activate the the peel off base then yo can put poly gel gel or acrylic and it easily comes of my nails leaving my nails healthy underneath! 🌈🌈🌈

    I’ve used this method and two nails popped off but it didn’t work for the rest I eventually had to use acetone lol it was a fail for me 🤷🏽‍♀️ but it’s still a good idea, it may not work for everyone.

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the first 2 pop off easily?
      Some of mine don’t pop off easily. But that extra work is worth it to avoid acetone.

    • @CheraelSymone
      @CheraelSymone 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carole Annette yes the two nails popped off easily, I didn’t even know when one of them came off lol
      The others were so hard to get off, I used oil to try and loosen it, I pushed back the cuticles , I used my efile on the cuticles, but nothing worked so I had to use my acetone at tht point. I believe the peel off base coat probably was absorbed by the clear powder 🤷🏽‍♀️ so thts probably why, cuz I have no other reason.
      I’m experimenting with using it in other ways so I hope it works

    It’s actually not possible to to get contact dermatitis from acetone, but you can get contact dermatitis from the chemicals that break down when using acetone (i.e., the chemicals in the liquids you are using for dip powder, or the dip powder itself). You can read more here: www.nailcarehq.com/allergic-to-pure-acetone/
    If you bite or pick at the skin around your nails, it’s likely that the the chemicals have an entry point for irritation to occur. Irritation can also happen if you are continuously getting any of the liquids on your cuticle. You might want to try switching to gel liquids, and using a cuticle pusher scoop to pour the acrylic on your nail, instead of dipping your nail. When you dip, the liquids you use move as you put your finger in the tub of acrylic, and likely end up around your cuticle in small amounts. Same with soaking, if you have broken skin, that skin has entry points for whatever dip liquid is breaking down in the acetone. Avoiding soaking the dip powder off and pouring dip on in application may help that problem (and make for a more flawless application). If you have to soak off, try applying a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor to your skin around the nail first. And make sure you sanitizing you tools between manis! I hope this helps you ✌🏾

  • @katrinagibson9482
    @katrinagibson9482 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you shape with a medium grit file after you apply your color? I did 2 dips of clear, activated and buffed and filed. Then went in with 3 dips of color and after activating I went in and started shaping and the color started lifting. Just curious if you have had any issues with that.

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you activate the colored dip before you start filing it.
      The dip needs to harden in order to be able to withstand the filing.

    Hi! Thank you so much for this video, I really appreciate how clear and concise it is. I've tried peel base once before and they didn't come off at all (think I just didn't use enough), found your video searching for "peel base over clear dip powder".
    Couple of clarifying questions if you don't mind. Do you let the first coat of peel base dry completely before the second? How long do you let each dry?
    Also, is there a reason you choose not to use top coat over your clear dip before adding the peel base? That was something I was told to do to help them pop off easier - trying to decide whether to still do that this time, but considering I had no luck with them popping off, figured maybe you purposely don't do this step for some reason.
    Thank you so much!

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes - I let every coat of peel base completely dry.
      As for the top coat, I eventually (after making this video) started using a top coat over the clear dip powder, because it’s easier to remove the dip over the peel base.

    How do you make the peel base last longer than a day?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Experiment with how much you apply.
      - 1 coat versus 2 coats.
      - Thinner coats versus thicker.
      - not touching the edge of the nail or doing just a strip of peel base down the middle.

  • @kofoedsandy
    @kofoedsandy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Carol,
    Today I remove my dip with the peel base underneath on the one hand. All but 1 finger came off OK. I had to pretty much sand the whole thing off. This is the same finger that popped off the day after that I dipped with the peel base. When I reapplied the dip on that finger I just added another coat of base plus dip powder. Could that be why it was stuck to my finger like cement? Should I have reapplied peel base and then dipped?
    And now that I have my nails free of dip, it looks like in the video I should just buff to take off the lifting areas of the the prior clear/color that I put down and apply the base again right over it. Then I apply peel base again and redip.
    I was thinking with the peel base if we didn't have to tidy up after lifting the dip from the nail, and there was minimal growth that I could go right over the peel base again with next dip? Maybe not because the surface has to be smooth before peel base applied.
    So through the reapplication process, after we smooth lifted areas, when we dip we are going over ther prior peel base, right?
    Maybe I'm thinking about this too much. Lol

    • @CaroleAnnette

    Hi there! I did my nails. I did natural dip across tip connection, then another 3/4 dip again natural, then a full dip of light pink. Seal, buff, seal. Then, I thought wait, I have to finish with top coat..... Then I'm stuck with this manicure. So, I dipped my pinky and thumb in a sparkle. I thought it was thick enough to take buffing without a clear coat. It wasn't. Now that the top coat is on, can I fix dip anymore? I would have to sand it down to the pink to do that right? Then dip, seal, etc. Does this sound right? I did ok. Next time will be better. I like the feeling better with tips than without. I think somehow it's not so tight on my mail this time.

      1. Yes, activate, file and buff before your peel base. You want it to be smooth before applying peel base.

    Hi, when you said you ruined your nails, what happened? For some reason mine got super brittle. It may be because when removing I didn't get down to the last glue coat. They felt different after I removed the dip and all my growth broke off over 3 days.. Last night I tried to remove it. I think there was a layer I didn't see still on...but glue I think. Hey. It ruined it on my natural nail because I was using a different brand that didn’t work for me. The other brand really stuck to my nails so when I tried to remove it, it was difficult to pop off, but when it did, it would rip my natural nail/extensions.
