- If we really want clean water, we have to rethink who is an environmentalist. Around the world, people are marrying new technology and freshwater protection with exciting results. Talking about cutting-edge developments, Jane McDonald wants all to understand the ways we should be innovating to protect water sources. The time for action is now. Jane McDonald is the Managing Director of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), an independent think tank championing sustainable solutions to 21st century problems, where she oversees IISD’s global team working to advance sustainable economies, protect freshwater, and accelerate climate solutions.
Jane has over 15 years of Canadian and international experience working with governments, corporate executives, and major think tanks to advance sustainability. She has worked in the financial sector, building new environmental markets at investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald, and led advocacy efforts to secure the inclusion of Canadian renewable electricity in the US Clean Power Plan.
From 2015-2016, Jane served as Policy Director for the Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change where she supported the Canadian government’s role in the Paris Agreement, and negotiations with provinces on the ‘pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change’. I admire scientists, they reveal more truth about our world.
There are not enough people and not enough environmental organisations in all over the world to combat the climate change problems. We need more people passionate, educated and innovative to join hands to help conserve our earth....
These people deserve more attention than a child with no expertise who runs on pure rage and emotion.

I also agree with Jim, because he cares about this world we all share, and so do I. It's for the benefit of you, him, me and especially all of our children. None of us want them to inherit a world full of pollution and filth.

Isn’t a environmentalist a person that is vegan? A environmentalist and a vegan both had something in common and that is to protect the environment. So if a environmentalist says I want a steak then maybe that person isn’t a environmentalist.
Alright, I liked your comment because I see your point. But an environmentalist is someone who cares enough to make changes for the better. No need to bash those who are not at the forefront, yet. If you keep doing that, you will alienate those who are at least recycling, voting for politicians who take a stand against pollution, et cetera. If you are promoting a division between these groups that *do* care and try to make changes, then are *you* an environmentalist?
My father was the embodiment of environmentally sound lifestyle choices in every way. But, when I told him about the impact of his food choices he just said he would eat what he wants when he wants. I detected a bit of anger.

It used to be someone that studies and loves nature and has reasonable aspirations of preserving it and protecting it; for the sake of the humankind and the other species living on this planet.
Nowadays, however, the label is increasingly and, maybe, inevitably conflated with the members of a doomsday cult.
That conservative diversionary tactic of posing as someone you clearly are not is so old and obvious. Not everyone is so blind as you are to believe in things with no actual basis in reality.
