He had a specific plan for each player. He'd tell Andruw or Chipper Jones what to expect on a certain pitch so they'd be ready to grab it. Nobody like the Professor. Certainly Soroka benefited from Acuna and an All Star infield.

It’s a bit absurd that the Braves somehow manage to give up a zillion hits and walks and additionally Heller was all over the place and only gave up 1 run. Just imagine if they had lights out starters and relief pitching. These games would never be remotely in doubt at any point. It’s almost baffling they are 3rd in baseball in ERA when it seems they are constantly wiggling out of trouble every inning. They are 8th in opponent batting average but they are also relatively the same as 8-20 so it’s almost impossible they are so low in ERA with all the i juries they’ve had. I hope the luck stays because it’s definitely been on their side in the first half.
Because of you watch other teams bullpens and pitchers around the league you’ll see the Braves are pretty good pitching wise. These other teams have guys that are almost guaranteed to blow it lol
@@tako4mvp719 I know what the basic stats say and that they are generally better than average, but if you see the deep stats, the Braves have also had a little luck on their side a lot as they have simply outscored their opponents when pitching wasnt great at least 10-15 times or about 25% of the time. A reversal of that at the wrong time means yet another early playoff exit that they have been plagued with over the last 2 decades. I suspect they will trade for more hardcore bullpen guy at the deadline. They are really just one started and one reliever from being unbeatable and wiping everyone off the map. They almost dont even need a LF even though that would be an extra luxury.
