HYSTS should be on all time high these days. The UFC should make Jon vs Coleman, Islam vs BJ Penn, Belal vs Hughes, Merab vs Cruz, Illia vs Aldo, Pereira vs Couture and Plessis vs Anderson next for legacy and P4P contest!!!!!!!!! It has turned into boxing now.
Small quibble on something Luke said re UFC and paying Jon, the UFC identifying a desire to keep fighter pay at 20% of revenue does not make that a fixed cost, unless revenue were to stagnate. As revenues continue to increase that could lead to them being willing to pay Jon his asking price, though I would still say that's unlikely if he's looking for $20+ million for a fight that likely would not outsell whatever this fight with Stipe just did. Agree with Luke's ultimate point, Jon has little to no leverage. Same thing with the Francis fight that never was.
It’s the fairness of the percentage share though. That’s the point I think Luke is making. And also as a side note, UFC is on a downside atm. TKO reported earnings show WWE has recently turned them more profit than ufc, because wwe made a profit, and ufc actually didn’t last quarter, it lost money. Not a good look when the “fake” stuff is more profitable. There is a number Dana will absolutely not even entertain because he’s Dana.
It’s a fixed percentage though (or lower) And if you look at TKOs 10q the UFC has lost revenue since 2022, and lost 20% of their revenue for same stretch last year. AKA low and falling faster. The new broadcasting rights deal at start of 26 will probably take effect after Jon is gone, and that would be the big revenue boost. They already have a grotesque amount of ads
@@FuntClaps101 Ehh I didn't think Luke was pointing to that percentage as it being unfair (we all know it is already) just that the UFC's willingness to pay Jon "f you money" likely wouldn't be there, and I agree that's very likely true. Revenue in Q3 being down from last year is interesting, though it appears to be related to having three less events (1 ppv and 2 fight nights) than in 2023, at least from what I just read. Q2 2024 was up from 2023 fwiw. I do wonder how the new broadcast rights deal next year could play a part in negotiations for Jon/Aspinall. This fight would presumably take place before that new deal, but perhaps there is an incentive with that new deal on the horizon to give Jon what he wants to get it done.
At the start of the show, Luke is saying that Jon still had all his weapons and his offensive capabilities but the first thing to go when you get old is your speed and reaction time and the fight with Stipe didn't show us where those things are really at because Stipe is even older and more rusty. Tony had all his weapons and capabilities right as his downfall started but that didn't matter because his reaction time and speed became diminished.
You don’t think it’s bad for boxing? Yeah, because it isn’t boxing. Jake Paul doesn’t do the same thing that Nicklaus Flaz, Matias, scooter Davis, David Morell, Benavidez or any legitimate boxer does. It’s separate from actual boxing. It might have the same packaging, it’s not the same sport. And it’s a damn shame that something like THAT gets more eyes than a legitimate boxing match. The people who watched THAT, aren’t boxing fans.
You want a kid with 0 pro/amateur experience, a non boxer, skills worse than a journeyman to have a good boxing match?😂 I feel for those who actually watch those fights. I’ll stick to watching ProBox cards with legitimate up and coming/well established boxers who have bangers or show amazing skills along with the other great boxing throughout the year

Post PPV events, this is the only podcast to watch. Great show guys!
HYSTS truly has the power to make my day or completely ruin it
I agree with BC, Jon’s defense did look a little off this fight. It looked like he was slight slower when getting out of the way of Stipe’s punches
BC my guy you are fucking nailing these intros lately!
why is the show volume so low???
The best post fight Combat Sports Show In the Game 👍🏼💯
Great video compilation at the end and the jokes were hilarious

It sucks they don't even mention Ben Askren as someone who fought Jake Paul.
Lmao he got cucked bad

if jon beat tom it’s literally his best win besides maybe gus1
When he fought Gus originally everyone thought it was a gimme fight and he would run through him
Luke "let me finish my interruption" Thomas xx
Got more chance of luke doing a chuck liddel gurning. Breakdown than a Jon Jones one.

I think Jon Jones should fight James Vick.
Jds beat stipe the first fight, but it wasn't a beating. That was when I first noticed stipe was coming on
1:33:33 Tyson talk

Why tf is Gane rematching volkov?
It seems Gane was involved in a movie which made him unavailable to fight tom so they gave volkov
Starts 2:01
After the fight luke even said he'd favour Jones over aspinal 😂😂
Jones shoots a basketball like trump gives out toilet paper to Puerto Ricans in need
Would love to see Jon Jones fight Luke Thomas
