New Plant Based Cheese Sauce with Potato Broccoli Waffle

- New plant based cheese sauce with potato broccoli waffle is the recipe I will be sharing with you today. This waffle is a great way to get your 50/50 plate in in one yummy waffle. Here is what you will need to make my new plant based cheese sauce and potato broccoli cheese sauce.
Ingredients for new and improved plant based cheese sauce:
3 cups Yukon gold potatoes cut into chunks
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 onion cut into chunks
1/4 cup raw cashews
3 T nutritional yeast
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 to 2 tsp salt
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 to 2 cups cooking water depending how thick or thin you want sauce.
Instructions:
Add veggies to a pot filled with water and boil till fork tender. Then scoop out veggies into a blender reserving cooking water. Add the rest of the ingredients including cooking water and blend till smooth. Let cool and store in jars and it will last about a week in the fridge
Ingredients for potato and broccoli waffle
2 small pre cooked Yukon gold potatoes
1 cup pre steamed broccoli
salt
onion powder
garlic powder
smoked paprika
chopped green onion for garnish
Instructions:
pre-heat waffle iron
mash potatoes with a fork and then mash broccoli and put them together and season and mix well. Place entire bowl of mixture into your waffle iron and smooth with a spatula to make sure it is in a even layer. Close lid and cook for at least 10 minutes before checking. When waffle comes out fairly easily it is done, it not cook for another 2-3 minutes. Top with cheese sauce and garnish with green onion

I have tried several vegan cheese recipes and this is really good. Can you make it without nuts or seeds? I used sunflower seeds, but trying to get my weight down. Can't wait to try the waffles.

Absolutely! I put this cheese sauce on everything. So good!
I use silken tofu with some avocado, lemon juice and a little bit of salt and dijon mustard to make a mayo from time to time. You might find also Tami's recipe useful (maybe without the herbs?).

I have a partner and it’s hard for her to eat the vegetables regularly. She’s is a meat eater and we are going more to beans rice and only eat meat twice a week to cut back. I’m trying ways to add vegetables in what I make like rice with a mix vegetables bag

So glad you are liking my videos and congrats on going more plant based. It's a process so take your time. One thing you can do is cook up some veggies and puree them in the blender and add to spaghetti sauce or soups. Smoothie are also a great way to get in more greens when you are starting out. Just make sure you put in some apples or bananas to add sweetness.
I use a bamboo skewer from the dollar store to lift the waffle from the waffle maker which doesn't scratch the non-stick coating.

Nice cheese sauce, its funny I made it yesterday and cooked onions with the carrot an potato and also put smoke paprika with it but a think its just to much salt thats just for me. Yes you can eat it on all your veggies Big Thanks 🥦😊😋

Hi I just made this but I do not have any cheese flavour do you need a special nutritional yeast I added so more but I get zero cheese flavour. Just potatoes carrots and onion.
How about lentils or chickea pasta is it better?
I do like those pastas better. More protein and more fiber.

Really? I don't think so. I find it pretty easy. Each batch lasts me a week to 10 days. So It's worth it.
