Just started my guilliman today and i chose the sword to paint first. I must say that i took all day on one side and its no where near as good as yours, its still probably the best looking piece ive ever painted thanks to you and your incredible indepth guide. Thankyou!
This is hands down the best flaming sword tutorial out there! The result is amazing and you are very specific about all the important parts to look out for with each detail. I appreciate these videos you do very much.
I watched this.... i understood the words coming out of your mouth. But STILL this feels and looks like it was witchcraft! I guess mostly because i'm still majorly struggling with glazing and creating a smooth transition.... may have to put this on repeat while i sleep and hope it sticks.
Do you think glazing a little bit more dark red near some of your highlights would ruin it or do you think that would increase the contrast in a readable way still?
Possibly, I didn't bother because ultimately the effect worked and I had a timeframe for this. I think of you kept it small it would increase the vibrancy of the highlight. If this was going into a competition I definitely would have tried it

So glad I found this! Fantastic reference for painting Castellan Crowe’s sword
I really enjoyed this video--the part where the flames interact with the blade and the NMM tip of the blade...it just seems kinda magical!
