Comparing class B's on the Ram Promaster 3500, I'd prefer the Coachmen Nova 20RB which has a similar floorpan with even nicer fit and finish in my opinion but out of the 2 you showcased in the video, I'd lean towards the Winnebago Travato. Nice job!
Hi Bucket List
The 2 separate beds are like being a married couple on a 1950's tv series. Lucy!!!!! (I love the 2 separate beds even more than Lucy!!) )
Noticed the travato blinds crinkle a bit when you were retracting and opening...kinda wondeer if they will get stuck, rip or last.....
they can be fussy but usually snap back into place. mine have held up well
Mine do the same...that is one minor improvement that Winnebago should definitely fix!
I thought the same thing! It looked like the blinds were made of paper and ready to tear!
Good comparison Scott! As an Ethos owner(20A not the 20T) you did a very fair comparison. I'll abbreviate T and E in my comparison. A few things that are not obvious: T-Sumo Springs, E-EZ Drive (Helwig helper springs and anti-sway). T-18 gal of fresh water, E-24 gallons of fresh water. T-TV antenna, E- Winegard Connect 2.0+ TV, WIFI, LTE Internet. T-Ultraleather seats are optional, E-Standard. E-Overhead shelf above windshield visors, T-none. T-Nautilus panel inside rear doors, E-all connections left exterior. Both have backup cameras, T-also has digital rearview mirror. T-TV Soundbar, no stereo, E-ceiling /exterior speakers, DVD/stereo. T-Individual control panels for house systems, E-Firefly touch panel. My comments: I like the Travato Lagun table and slat bed system for bed area. Ethos airplane table for passenger. If I was going to do system modifications I would prefer Travato's controls, but for simplicity of use I prefer the Firefly panel. I think the chrome running boards and chrome exhaust on the Ethos look classier. The painted front facia on the Travato looks nicer, but the Ethos plastic wont chip with rocks. I like the locking "safe" in the Travato. I like the 3 wardrobe drawers on the Ethos. I like the Ethos invisible cabinet latches. I like the all glass (passenger style chassis) of the Ethos rather than the black painted sides of the Travato. Which one would I buy? Tossup. We bought the Ethos 20A with the 4 captains chairs. Nobody else offers that floorplan on a Promaster. Whichever you prefer, you'll get a great adventure. BTW Scott toured our van at th-cam.com/video/wcGhA8DDlMM/w-d-xo.html
Such great info Mr. Kurtz. Thanks for going into such great detail for others to learn from. And you are promoting the tour video we did together! What a champ :)
Holy buckets! You did a thoughtful comparison! Kudos! 👏 I prefer the cabinets on the T. I’m not keen on the high gloss finish. Love the safe compartment that the T has! I prefer the table on the T but like the entertainment system of the E and the cooktop on the E is so much better!! The cooktop on the T looks so cheap!
Your additional info was what I was looking for. Thanks, I'm steering toward Ethos.
59 k for me
Always nice to see your videos, You are one of the feww still living the rv life after the Covid19 passed.
Appreicate you. And yes, one of the few still doing Vanlife as a full-time traveler, now of year 5. Thanks for noticing :)
i have the travato. i love it! great run through 😊
Loved that the bathrooms are at the back ,I hope Winnebago out here in Australia will come out with either of those floor planes. Always good to see new styles & Timbers ,stoves etc used thank you Scott ,Elaine from Queensland,Australia.
Australia 🇦🇺 !!!
Ethos because I want the option to be able to hook up at an RV park sometimes and boondock other times.
I just recently bought the Entegra Ethos, and wife and I love it
Congrats David
Scott, Thanks for the great video. The Travato would be my choice. The quality of the build is more important to me than the minor other differences.
Well said Karen
Nicely done, as always!
The Ethos tables are identical to previous Tk years
I prefer the Ethos propane cooktop, but I still want my big bathroom in my Tg
Howdy Ms Supp !
Hey Scott, great video as always. As a owner of a 2022 Ethos 20TL, the lithium version, Ive been happy with everything except plumbing. The TL has the Timberline hydronic heating system and they used reinforced braided vinyl water lines. All of the lines to my heat exchanger eventually leaked. I end up have to have them all replaced with PEX. The heat exchanger gets up to 175 degrees and the line are rated 180 up 80 psi. But the Renogy system is great but not to user friendly. You have to leave the inverter on the charge from shore power but the 2nd alternator recharges fairly quickly. I was at about 70% and drove about 2 hours and got back to 100%. Overall the ownership has been good, but its the dealership we bought and with Texas's franchise laws makes it impossible to take it anywhere else for service under warranty in the state of Texas. If there is anything I would change is where I bought from. Thanks again for the great content.
Howdy from Frisco, TX. We bought our rig from out of state and we have had 2 different dealers perform warrantee service on our rig, (2022 Tavato KL). Also, Chevy, Ford, Ram etc. Dealers perform warrantee service even if you did not buy from them. They are all francised. Maybe this is a manufacturer stipulation to bring to seller for warrantee service, not The State of Texas. I would encourage you to try to take your rig to another dealer for service, if you choose. Good Luck !🤠
@@waynewynn5892 Well hopefully you have everything sorted now, so you can enjoy your rig. We love ours! FYI We have also made a couple of road trips to Winnebego Factory Service in Iowa for warrantee work. They have all of the parts right there. We camped right on their grounds. It was a nice little getaway adventure. Maybe Integra has a similar program.
Thx for sharing Wayne
Ethos wins on touch pad controls and likely has an app for your phone. Continuous cabinet space with concealed latches, exterior system features, awning tie down latches and a proper engine exhaust pipe that directs down. One could retrofit LAGUN mounts and just use the table top for joining the beds. That would take up storage for table tops for the LAGUN mounts, though.
Travato wins on under bed storage, driver/pass front tables, LAGUN mounts, rear door bug screen, walnut wood grain walls.
Happy Travels, Scott...
howdy V L
Toss up but there's got to be a way to put a bigger fridge with a freezer in these rigs
Great comparison Scott! If Coachmen hadn't come out swinging with those solid wood cabinets and next year a double lithium pack, it would have been down to these two.
Good to know
Scott what is the phone holder your using to video tape
We have the 2020 Travato KL. The Ethos seems to copy the older 2020 K with the airplane table and dinette table. But Ethos has firefly lighting and tablet control a stepup and probably allows dimming of lights. Water connections on outside -less stealth but you dont have to open and leave door open to attach water hoses. The ethos came with better ladder AND spare tire and tire holder!!! Thats a $1,000 upgrade over the Travato with no spare tire.
Well said Robert
i have the travato and not being able to fill without doors being open in inconevenient. agreed! they seem so similar!
I'll go with Travato
excellent
excellent
Still like the Travato better but prefer the open overhead storage...wonder why WB stopped doing that and if you could take one divider out to accommodate longer items like golf clubs or chairs?
Good question Stephen
I am 6.2" am I going to have a problem in the driver's seat leg room
why all shades are broken?
59 k for us
🤠This Ethos is a "copy cat" of the older style Travato K. Scott, It is too bad they didn't "copy cat" the old Travato G floorplan that you love so much....😎
Hi Mark
Seems like this is the common concensus! I agree 💯!
Still prefer the Travato G/GL floor plan. Wonder why no one is copying that floor plan.
It is a good question Jane
Ditto here!
Great review Scott. I personally would choose the Travato 59K. It just seems more of a quality build. I do have a problem with both table types. Having used both systems in class B RVs, I can say that they are both cumbersome! What I would personally do would be to have a folding table stored under the long bed, and pull it out whenever it’s needed. Again, great work!
Thanks for wathcing
👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍Travato 59k
yes !
Did you get your RV repaired….I must have missed it
thx for asking. RV is repaired. Video coming soon
Ethos - lower price and larger fresh water tank.
great
I think we in the uk get more for your money in this class vans
agree with you
There is a hefty price difference between these that you did not discuss.
Hi Mike
Agree with the price. Hubby was leaning Travato but we ended up getting Jayco Swift 20T. Like having the sleek cabinetry and openness of the Swift cabinets. I dont want to have to open the back in order to plug in with the Travato
I am one not to be asked...I am a GL man all the way!!
Yes you are sir
I'll take it at $102,008!
That price is very good since it has the 2022 Ram chassis. A great buy. The 2023 Ram chassis has MANY safety upgrades and the larger console screen. Of course, a 59k with the 2023 chassis and house the currently runs about $137,000.
Nice !
Sorry but they misunderstand The whole idea with The Campervan concept with this layout - one of The great thing with The classic Campervan is that you Can sit or lay Down with The rear Doors open and enjoy The view - I don’t understand this They convert it into a Mobilehome 🤯 but typical US
thx
I don't like the travato's puny fresh water tank
got it
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🇵🇭
Thanks for watching and commenting !
My fear is bteakdowns, transmission, engine, and
Cannot live in fear. roll with it and get your journey on Rod !
The pentastar engine and 9-speed transmission are time proven to be very reliable. Maybe not exactly Toyota reliable, but last I checked Toyota wasn’t making a 95K knockoff yet.
Boring floor plans
Boring, but best selling. Which floor plan layout do you prefer?
I would go for an advanced rv custom build...
I can't sleep with my partner...I prefer permanent bunk beds separate from a living area. I don't like sleeping on the couch that needs to be made up and taken down each day.
